Finally got to make this purchase. I got 1 Artifacts hobby, UD 1 Hobby, and 1 MVP Hobby

Started with Artifacts had 1 7pack blaster box from a couple weeks ago

20-21 Artifacts blaster 7 packs 5 cards per price tag $17.50

These boxes really offer nothing but base cards. Was lucky enough to pull a Redemption
card 1 in 60 packs

My son actually pulled this card in the first pack opened. Only card that made this break
worth the price tag. Box prices are unreal these days.

I hope to break my other boxes this weekend.

Sheesh only one rookie in hobby? I just can't buy any Artifacts, no point. But lucky pull in the blaster and awesome Fleury hit.

Nice box of Artifacts and nice pull on the blaster. Your hobby box was killer and lucky. I got in a 3 box break and watched two of the three boxes just have numbered cards as hits. Beyond that the prices are as you said unreal. At $140 for a hobby box, and seeing some boxes contain no hits, I just cannot see buying it, but it is selling out. That is the hobby right now, boxes that were $40 just over a year ago are now $125+. It is just crazy. UD hobby boxes that used to be $70 now are selling at $130 and up. I hope this trend ends, but not sure if it will. Might be time to stop collecting.

It would be really hard to stop collecting, but will start being a little more specific on what I collect. Football and Basketball are even more nuts. Glad I have not been collecting those sports.
Prices are just nuts, but some of the older boxes I have shelved over the years mostly the Upper Deck have also seen a jump in value. Not that I intend on selling them. But I suppose I could be tempted.
I am pleased with my Artifacts break, but I have also been hearing about some damaged cards bad edges and corners saw a few of these in my base cards. Numbered and memorabilia cards looked good though.

Yeah damages have gone up. In UDS1, I have two packs of Glossy OPC from tins where the foiling is missing. Then I was in a break of hobby case and got a random assortment of base cards and within that group I had about 10-15 missing foil as well. Luckily the larger portion were fine and all the hits were fine as far as the foil goes. I would imagine they probably cut back on their quality control people due to the pandemic? Not sure, but that is the only thing I can think of why cards are coming out like this. Also, I think the shippers are overworked and are being more careless with packages (tossing them around more than they used to since so busy).
