Being a collector for 25+ years and being a member of the site for over 10 years I was wondering if anyone thought about cleaning it up? Removing insignificant members that haven't visited back in years and adding fresh active members.

I was lucky enough 10 years ago to be added to this trading site with my very first trade with snkpoct137. As many of you mite be aware, there are a ton of Facebook sites these days with trading, buying, selling, and even a thing called "razzing". It's become very popular. I've met a ton of great people that are dependable, trustworthy, and dedicated to the hobby that I would vouch for with my own wallet. Some sites also have a list of scammers, problem people, non payers, non senders that I may be able to provide here.

I don't have multiple identities so my name here is the same as it is on Facebook. I know most here have different sports related names and initials on this site rather than there real name on Facebook. If you are a regular on the Facebook sites let me know cause chances are we probably had a deal at some point.

I'd like to provide this sites link to the many hobby lovers that I have had the pleasure to deal with over the years if it's ok with the powers that be? I guess I just hate seeing a good thing die. And this place was great for trading and buying when I first found it and was added to it.

Just throwing an idea out there. Maybe someone metioned something like this before... or maybe not.

Bill, I am not sure what could be done to attract new members. It would be nice if that would happen, but I think a lot of people have thought about things to do, but nothing has ever materialized. There was talk about having more contests, manufacturers, and other ideas, however, none of those seemed like long term solutions or were able to happen. Part of the biggest block was a lack of ability to update the main pages. I am not sure what ever happened to Bob, I assume he still owns the site, but we never hear from him, unless the CZT does?

I know Mark (obert22) who hosts the hockey group is involved in a Facebook group for here with some of the members.

I don't know what the magic solution to increasing activity is. It is low all over the trading card internetverse. It seems many have gone to doing everything over social media (Twitter, Facebook) but I don't feel that is not a way for me to do things.

Over at the Trading Card Database the same kind of question about deleting deadbeat members has popped up from time to time and has gotten shot down. Sometimes computer problems forces someone to stop going to a website. Then when they finally get their problems fixed it would be devastating to attempt to return to the site and find out your membership has been cancelled. I think if an account was made 5 years ago and was only visited the day it was started could safely be deleted. Only 1 or 2 years maybe not. I'm not sure if it is even worth the effort to scrub deadbeat accounts. If it effects the site's storage space then the site has way too little storage space.

Great info guys. I agree for the most part. Interesting read from you Gentleman.

So, Sports card forum still seems to thrive. Similar group. I'm only comparing as to.. What needs to be done here to get it where it once was? Or just leave the members the same.. Not remove anyone as they may come outta the woodwork with some nice cards for trade whether they are high, mid, or lower end. Getting new members in could help but maybe not.

I'm just looking at this site and pondering. I remember Bob as well. I think the reigns and decisions of this site should be handed down to someone with time, health, support, trust.. Just my opinion though. No offense to anyone.

Traffic on Blowout and SCF is still pretty decent I'd say. This place has been a ghost town for quite some time now. Like others have said, things have been done to try to increase activity but all for naught. With the evolution of the hobby, eBay, Facebook, and Twitter are now the hot spots. I still make deals on SCF and Blowout from time to time and enjoy discussing topics on those forums with other members. Hate to say it but at this point I would recommend everyone here at least attempt to venture out to other boards or social media to keep you involved in the hobby. If you don't want to that's fine, but that's where the activity is nowadays. Don't expect TCC to be what it once was that ship has sadly sailed.
