Outline · [ Standard ] · Linear+ BGS Submission Group, Kicking out the Idea

So after conversing with a few members, it looks like we might have enough interest in doing a BGS submission group. I don't know all of the details on how it would work yet (i.e. price per cards, shipping, etc) but I want to see who would be interested in trying this out.


For those who have had a little more experience with submission groups, please feel free to share you thoughts, good or bad! I would like to know both the ups and downs of doing a group! I know I have a bunch of cards I would like to get graded for myself!

Just a mess with hosting till you get the hang of it, other than that its not that hard to run one, just getting 100 cards from members to get the deal is the thing.

And as far as Grading from BGS, look your cards over with a fine tooth comb, if you see any thing wrong with your card, your going to get a bad grade, I have sent 8 cards in, two of the 8 cards were thick, 8.5's on both, so try not to pick them as they are tough to get a good grade on, 6 cards came back 9.0-9.5s, almost impossible to get a Pristine 10, but its great when you land them.

I like the fact that not only your PC card is graded it is slabbed air tight, never to be touched again which is good for future investment.

Exactly the reason I am wanting to do this. I am going to be sending in a bunch of vintage stuff and my PC items. Not too concerned about getting a 10. 8.5 or higher is fine by me.

lets say you did two Auto RC's $8 a peice.

$16 to grade
$2 to ship to Shawn

Depending on how many members join in, Shawn would pack all the cards and get a full price with insurance to ship to beckett with the cost of beckett shipping back to Shawn, the full total cost would be divided between the group, then shipping back to you will be added.

last Group submission I was in I sent 2 cards, Think it was $26 in Total.

Look at this...I got the same card Graded, think I got it in a trade, a $15 trade 4 yrs ago, mine got a 9.5 Grade, not sure where these people get there prices, but if they go for these prices, I'm sitting pretty with mine Just a Idea on getting your cards graded

On another site I am on a guys does a submission a few times a year. Over there the rate for 20 day service is $7 per card $8 per auto card. depending on price I would be in.

Guess it's $99 to join the BGS Club, you can get 6 Submissions and a fixed rate on the cards getting Graded, but you can also submit with out a membership, You can copy a order form at beckett to place a order. Fill it out, mail it along with the cards and Money Order and with Tracking and Insurance.


It's not like we can't do one, it's who will do it? I'm already a member there at Beckett and probably have enough info to start one up, lets see if we reach 100 cards from members who want to join and the TCC Team can discuss the running of the Submission to BGS and who will or would want to be the Host.

And another thing, from what I heard is that if you are doing a Group Submission from a site, that there is copy right to follow and rules, like the "Price Check" Thread would have to be closed and asking of BV on the forum would not be allowed, just some other details we would have to look into further.

You can still ask for BVs via PMs but not on actual threads I believe.

Just got off the Phone with Charles Stabile who is the NE Regional Sales Manager!


Here are the highlights. Right now, we can submit without a membership as an individual at the following prices:

31-99 Cards = $9 Per Card ($11 for autos)
100+ Cards = $8 Per Card ($10 for autos)

Insurance is $10 per $1k in declared value.

Shipping is $38 FedEx Ground.

I believe you can safely fit up to 5 graded cards with some bubble wrap in a small Flat Rate box at 5.95. Anything over 5 would go in Med Flate Rate box at 12.65


That being said, if we estimate $3k in declared value per 100 submissions each card will cost the following:

Per Card:
$8 submission + .50 insurance + .50 FedEx Shipping = 9.00

Add $6 for Shipping back for 5 or less, 13 for Shipping for over 5 Cards.

So if everyone averaged 5 cards you would spend around $80 per submission.

However, once I get my shop officially opened, he said I could become a submission hub and it would be a bit cheaper and easier!

Or we can pay just a little more and have a small submission with the members that voted at 1-2 cards a member, 20 cards plus cards.

I'll put up a Thread for a Submission group towards the end of December and I'll host it, should be simple enough to do, everything will be posted on how it will go in the thread.
