Is UD going under? They lost the NBA?? Crazy.
*

Yeah, whatever happened with that, there were all those stories about McWilliams and UD going bankrupt. Guess not? unsure.gif

UD to me sometimes just lacks innovation at least in the more affordable products, there have been splashes here and there with Masterpieces and Champs, but for the most part, most of what they do is the same stuff just with a different look year after year. Anyway if you enjoy their stuff continue to do so, I just am bored for lack of a better term.

Good place for a rant...just saw a Lebron UD Exqusiste card today with a shoe piece. Not a GU, not even an EU, NOT EVEN PLAYER WORN AT ALL. The card called it "shoe of the same brand typically worn by Lebron James". That was the last straw for me. They produced a $550 product and literally cut up a $20 Foot Locker shoe. These companies have gradually decreased their expenditures on content over the years, and instead feed us this crap (Event Worn, Pro Bowl GU, manupatches, low round rookie sticker dumps), increased the cheap rookie content, decreased the HOF/veteran content...yet every year the box price creeps up. Don't even get me started on Flawless with a $1200/bx price tag. I don't care what is in there, NOTHING is worth $1200/bx. The Lebron shoe incident, and the existence of Flawless makes it pretty clear to me that they do not care what drivel they feed us, as long as we blindly buy it.

You sure that wasn't a shoe thrown at him when he left Cleveland? laugh.gif
I would love to know who can afford to throw $1,200 at a box of cards, that is just insane! There are people who do and I would like to know what they do for a living that they can afford to spend that kind of money as that is a decent home mortgage payment.

There was a thread on another site that ranted about the state of game used cards. The verbage on the back of the cards has gotten worse and worse, like the LeBron shoe card you are referring to. GU cards used to state that the swatch was actually worn in an official game by that specific player. Nowadays it doesn't say it was worn by the player or even in an actual game! It's bad.
