1991 BBM Japanese Baseball Box

30 packs and 10 cards per.

Was intrigued when I first saw a box of this. This is the first year of BBM cards. Features players before they joined the bigs such as Nomo and Irabu, Americans on a stint overseas and there's a subset honoring some of their greats.

Notables Etc: Nomo, Irabu, Masato Yoshii, Kazuhiro Sasaki, Shigetoshi Hasegawa RC, Masaki Saitoh, Hiromitsu Ochiai, Masao Kida, Ozzie Canseco, Orestes Destrade, Jim Paciorek, Tim Birtsas, Ray Young, Mike Laga, Marvell Wynne, Jim Traber, Tom O'Malley, Rod Allen, Phil Bradley

Inserts

Nostalgic Stars

Oh, Shigeo Nagashima, Minoru Murayama, Tadashi Sugiura, Futoshi Nakanishi, Kazuhisa Inao, Masaaki Koyama, Tetsuya Yoneda, Yoshio Yoshida, Isao Harimoto

Hologram

Blue Wave Logo

Well these were interesting breaks. I got 6 Nomos - he has 6 league leader cards and just missing one. I opened a box and a half about. I first bought a box missing a few packs and then later bought a sealed one and started with that. From my research before buying I read that the packs all follow a certain sequence. 2 stacks are in a straight order while the other is not as predictable. And you won't find a double. I went through the open box and found some more packs of new cards before stopping. I didn't finish the set (need 29 more) but I found the hologram card! I believe they're found in every 2 boxes. Enjoyed starting on this set. Learned about the Japanese league and can now remember these teams.
