I have a couple of things that I don't like
1) When I go to card shows dealers think or treat me like I don't know anything because I'm 16 but I pretty much know more then them about what they are trying to ell.
2) When people reply in box breaks saying "I need that card" instead of complimenting the person for the break and thanking them for sharing.
3) Pack Searchers
I think that is it.

His father tells him he shouldn't collect who he does because they're not investments. That's why he continuously asks TCCers who he should collect.
Let's see, another one of mine...
And this is a small one that I feel dumb for even let bother me, but when people say they have scans but those scans are really photographs of the product. I keep thinking, "A scan requires a scanner!"
Ugh.

I just thought of anohter one I HATE when people try and sell autographs that they got TTM. The athlete went out of their way to sign it so you shouldn't go and sell it. Why do you think none of the big name stars sign anymore? Also I don't see it here but on SCN but I hate when people try to keep other player's addresses secret. If you have a address for an athlete you should share the wealth if you got an auto back from the address.
I don't see these examples on TCC though!

What really bugs me is when people say before box breaks like "I call all Sterling Sharpe" or whatever the players name is.

Fake collectors/fans:
The people whose collection/Photobucket consists of about 15-30 cards, all being different players, and all being "high end RC autos". The people with no direction with their collecting and no passion whatsoever for the sport they "love". People who constantly swap these precious "high end RC autos" over and over again whether it is because "they will be worth more in the future", or possibly because they think it makes them look good.
There is becoming more and more of these people, and it bugs me. Collect your player, collect your team, collect your set. Collecting "high end RC autos" is pointless and only screams "I think I can make money in this hobby".

i don't think that's neccesarily true...I don't tend to write notes when I trade, but i still care!

one small pet peeve of mine is when someone will list a parallel or insert from a players rookie year and say it's a 'RC'...it's not a true RC, but it is from their rookie year, so in theory it's not a RC...doesn't really annoy me, I just always seem to notice. nice thread!

I agree with all of those excpet for the ones that are listed in the quote.
for #10 why should hobby and blaster packs have the same name whats the big deal if I call it a blaster pack or a blister pack or a booster pack its the same thing.
#9 Of course no one likes pulling scrub gu but thats part of the hobby. If you pulled a great card every time what would be the fun of it if it was just a common thing.
#7 Yeah you might get frustrated but its there cards they dont have to trade it for something they dont want and you would probably do the same. Plus I dont like when people use there age as an excuse. David (Dviv17) is the same age as you you dont see him using his age as an excuse.

Wow lots of good ones on here. I'm kinda new here, so just starting to get the feel of the place, wish something like this was around years ago (but then I didn't have a computer anyway

)
Some people make money on sports cards, but I think you have better odds at the Stock Market, besides that's not really what it is about to me (but maybe I'm weird).
Just remember some people just don't know any better, a little "non agressive" elightenment might work wonders.
I just use BV as a basis to get trade close, you have to use something, but it really should be about both parties getting something they want (though this doesn't really apply to the folks trying to make money or the specualtor crowd). I have lots of "higher value upcoming stars" cards of the 90s that I put in a different box, and they in the .10-.20 range now (some not even that, can you say Marinovich?

).
People who post in set builders topics "do you want to buy?" for the first reply. If you ever tried to build sets in the 90s, bought many boxes and have 1,500-2k duplicates and still don't have a 500 card set, then you would know this is frustrating (UpperDeck you know who you are). I've only been here a short time so far, but already on two occassions I have sent what I had to set builders even if they don't have anything for me (you can tell the true set builders because it's not just one team or player).
I agree on the people selling TTM or in person non COA cards. People wonder why the athletes don't sign, they can see them on EBAY. Don't spoil it for the rest of us that find value in that, even though it lowers the value of the card.
Most had been covered, just had to throw in my two cents.
happy collecting all,
Dwight
