Collectors of old hockey cards salivated, then bid heavily on a 1920s William Patterson set.
Montreal-based Classic Collectibles recently sold a 1923-24 William Paterson V145-1 complete hockey card set of 40, including the extremely rare Bert Corbeau card. The selling price was $136,538 US. Classic says the sale sets a new record for the public sale of any hockey card set.

The highly sought-after card set was offered in Classic's most recent Jacques
Laperriere auction.

Nice. Wish I had a set like that, of course I don't have $136K so that might explain it. laugh.gif
