Yes, we did pass 2000 on our way to a new record for posts in a single day! Here's the data:

The previous record was 1868 on December 29, 2006.

I will agree with that....as the members keep coming, the posts keep rising!!

I can´t compare it with how was the site beofre because I´m quite new here, but there are lots of posts everybody. This also attracts more people to come to the site, and those who joined (like me) remain in it and just can´t stop posting. Another thing that increases the number of posts is the number of contests held in the forum, there are several daily contests.
