Most of this will be basketball, but I've thrown a few other sports in there randomly... First I'll let you know my successes from a few years ago (I believe it was around year 2000, I took a break around the anthrax scare, as I figured TTM stuff would be hard to get with that going on)... Anyway, here's some of the successes I had back then:

Long story short, I've gotten into TTM recently again, and started sending stuff out about a week and a half ago. I'll be posting as I receive anything in the mail and feel free to comment or give me some suggestions. So far here's what I've gotten this year and where I sent it...

John Wooden (got a signed card back and a signed "leadership card"; sent to his home address)
Jamal Mashburn (sent to home address)

Both were personalized.

Anyway, if you've had any NBA TTM successes, let me know, as I'm starting to write like a madman.

Oh also... The John Wooden took a week and the Mashburn took 8 days.

Alright, finally some movement here...

Sent 7/27, received today 8/11, Joe Dumars sent back 2/2 cards. Glad I sent two since he signed the back of one (even though it's identical to the front, just darker), but the one he signed correctly looks great.

So far doing alright, hopefully some more get sent back next week.

Joe Montana! He was one I really wanted, sent the only card I have of his and I'm thrilled he sent back... I sent on July 27 and got back today... Very happy about this one.

Been a while, but I got two successes today...

Rick Fox c/o home, sent on August 2nd received today, 1/1.

Also got Mike Bibby back today, sent c/o the Kings... Sent to him on July 27th, received today, 1/1.

Always fun to get some of this stuff back in the mail.

Nah, I've only sent like 6 years ago, and some this year... That's been my experience with TTM so far.

Yeah me too... I'll probably send to the entire 12 man roster, including anyone on the injured list. It's not like it costs a lot.

Never sent anything to people who don't have cards.. I might try something new once training camp opens though.

Anyway... two successes today.

First, Doc Rivers returned 1/1, sent 8/8, received today, 9/15.

AND, VERY happy with this one... KENYON MARTIN 1/1... Sent 7/27 and received today 9/15. I honestly was not expecting this back... Boy I hope he can stay healthy this year.

My first NFL TTM success came today... Couldn't for the life of me remember who I sent to in Baltimore until I opened it and saw my TTM Steve McNair card sitting there. Quite happy with that one, I'm a big fan of his. His marker was clearly running out of ink though when he signed mine, but I'm not about to complain.

Sent 8/14/07 received today 10/1/07!

Wow that was a long layoff... Got one success today and one non-success.

Kirk Hinrich sent his card back unsigned in my SASE (all of these I've done over the years, that's the first time I've had that happen to me).

But I also go Dirk Nowitzki back signed today. Nice success there. From my experiences, the Mavs have always been very generous TTM signers.

Received Andrei Kirilenko today.. The season's starting up and I'm getting more successes. How much more interesting would this thread be if I owned a scanner, or at least a better digital camera?

Completely forgot about this one, but it came back today!

Sent 8/1/07, received today 11/30, Bernie Williams. It's on one of those awesome 96 Pinnacle Aficionado cards, and REALLY looks amazing.

A couple of big breaks between signatures lately, although with Bigben's free week-long subscription to the site he belongs to, I have been sending more out lately... My 2nd NFL success came in today!

Drew Brees, sent 8/13/07 received today 12/17/07... That makes Brees and McNair now... Two of my favorite QBs in the league!

Man I wish we had some pics of this stuff. I'd love to see some of these.

I wish I could.. My brother's actually getting a pretty nice digital camera for Xmas, so hopefully that'll work better than the one I currently have (which is about 4-5 years old)... If that works, I'll take some pics of the nicer ones... Especially the Bernie Williams... It's gorgeous.

I dunno how it is with your money situation right now seeing as it's the holidays and all, but man go to Wal-Mart and check out the clearance stuff. Seriously. That's what I did. Got a nice Lexmark scanner/printer for real cheap.

Oh on a very related note, we got a printer/scanner in today... Had no idea!

As to how long it will actually take to get it up and running properly, then figuring out how exactly it works, that's a totally different story. But within the next few weeks, expect some scans of TTM stuff, scans of stuff to trade, and my very own non-eBay borrowed scans of my personal collection!

I can't wait!
