Found this on Ebay and am seriously considering buying it. I do however beleive that the Seahawks in Largents playing days did not have the embroidered patches like this particular example has, I may be wrong though. I was hoping somebody could help me out with this one. Thank you all in advance.

this is sad but it is fake! i researched on there jerseys and logos, and in his time frame they seahawks logo on the sleeve was printed not a patch! also if you look at the card look at the white on the nose, it was a lot bigger, like 2-3 times bigger nose! sorry but the patch has been faked!

Edge, out of curiousity why would someone modify a patch that is 1/1. In a different post you (or someone else in the thread) said to look for the "prime" information on the patch and to make sure its a low numbered card. This satisfies both of those requirements. I am just asking, because anytime someone see a kickbutt patch, it is automatically labled a fake? I got scammed in an ebay purchase and am just trying to protect myself.

Thanks.

if it was off the Sleeve the head would be much bigger though as this may have came from a different part of the jersey

It just sucks that you cant trust any decent card with an awesome patch without thinking it was a fake.

You can see the "larger" white on the nose edge was talking about in this pic -

and every jersey shoulder seahawk logo Ive seen on ebay in scans of cards and such appears screen printed, but that doesnt mean this didnt come from an anniversary patch or something..

when he played they had both logo on the sleeve and no logo on the sleeve. but both versions were printed. and you can tell that is a tinny patch, and the logo on the sleeves is big! also look at the embroidery work! its way to good to be a old patch. look at the old nfl logo patchs, they look like junk, but the newer ones are very clear and detailed.

and when i say its real or not that is my opinion and should be took as that. if you take my word for something then im glad i helped you. if you don't take my word, that's fine to. i do know a lot about cards and auto. and i useally dead on when i spot a fake (whatever). but i can be wrong. im just trying to give my help. just like when someone ask is this a good trade, some will say yes and some will say no!!

and as for why would someone fake a 1/1 card! (also look up the patrick wills exquisite rc patch auto 1/1, its a 1 color!!!this topic was up at some point). first the patch piece might be a 1 or 2 color just plain. plus cooler patches sell a lot better. and most people don't suspect that a 1/1 would be faked!!! so they look and bid! and most people will do no research on what they buy, this is why fakes are so big, because people are buying them. ***if people would stop buying fakes, people would stop making fakes!!!!*** -ME

heres a good one for you! this is a sweet card that had the 1/1 printed on it.

There have been plenty of faked 1/1 patches. Kevin Burge has been responsible for a number of them. There are several of the NT triple logo patches that have been faked and there is a Marcus Allen NT 1/1 that I know for a fact is fake that was sold on eBay. People will do anything for a buck.
