This year I have decided to organize the 2009 Secret Santa. There are, however, a few restrictions for those wanting to join which are defined below.

RULES

1) You MUST have a minimum of 10 transactions completed. You must also have no transactions failed on your behalf because you failed to send payment/cards within the last 6 months. You must also not be on any type of TCC restrictions.

2) The deadline to sign up is Nov. 22. At that point I'll randomize all the names and send you a PM with your recipient's address and collecting wants.

3) Packages MUST contain $20-30 SALE VALUE of cards and/or memorabilia. It is suggested that you include cards and/or memorabilia from the collecting wants, but it's not a requirement. Just keep in mind that you should send something that you would be happy receiving. This does not include shipping and handling.

4) Packages MUST be mailed with DC and should be scheduled to arrive at their destination NO LATER than Dec. 23. You must also PM all DC numbers to me so that I can keep track of who has/hasn't sent a package.

5) If the package is international, obviously since DC aren't available, simply PM me when the package has been sent. You should still send the package with enough time that it arrives no later than Dec. 23.

GENERAL INFO

If you would like to sign up, please post here that you would like to join. You should also send me a PM including your address and your collecting wants. You will receive a follow up PM from me on or before Dec. 1 with your recipient's address and collecting wants. At that point, it will be up to you to put a package together and have it delivered before Dec. 23.

Please PM me once your package has arrived, even if you choose to wait to open it on Christmas day. I will be keeping a running list of who has/hasn't mailed a package and who has/hasn't received one. Those who do not send a package will be reported to the CZT, and I'm certain action will be taken.

I guess that's about it. I'd like to get at least 10 participants, but there is no limit on the number of members who can join as long as you can meet the criteria above. If you have any questions please ask them here, or feel free to PM me.

I see a lot of people concerned about not having anything their person may want. Remember, you can always pick something up, it doesn't have to come from your collection.

I got a quick question. What if your person you are sending to wants end up being nothing you have. Do we send cash or what?

Based on what I've seen from other Secret Santas I think the intent is for you to acquire something the person would like, even if you have to purchase it.

As I interpret it the $20-$30 SV is for the whole batch, it doesn't necessarily have to be just one super duper goldmine card. So getting a batch of just that persons fave team would be a bare minimum. I don't think anybody is really expecting to strike it rich from this. The whole point is to spread the collecting cheer for the Winter Holidays. As the age old cliche says "Its the thought that counts".

DDs trade for it suggestion is a good stand by just remember to keep track of the deadline times. Relying on a last minute trade could be disastrous.

You should just ask people that are doing it what they are looking at for value because some seem to want more, ask them through PMS and nobody will know the difference, match those people saying the value is this, Just shooting an idea.

Guys, since we have as many members signed up as we do already, I'm going to go ahead and bump the entry deadline to Nov. 22. That gives us a little over 1 week to finish signing up, but will give us an extra week to get packages together for mailing out. That said, if you want to join, please do so as soon as possible!!

I'm not trying to make this more complicated, but wouldn't it be a good idea to divide member into sports. I'm just saying this because if I got someone who like football I would have nothing to give them. Anyone else agree? I don't think it would be much harder. Just have 2-4 groups. Since there are 20+ people I think it would work out fine. Anyone else like the idea?
