Here we are in November, and the Major League Baseball champion has not yet been crowned.

One thing that has been decided — be it Yankees or Phillies, this year’s World Series winner will be honored with a commemorative Topps baseball card set.

Last week, Topps released preview images and information for the 27-card set, which will include 20 player cards, one card of the team’s manager, four playoff highlights cards and two World Series highlights cards.

Only the winning team will be commemorated with the card set, which is expected to sell for about $10.

The set will be about half the size and half the price of similar World Series champion sets made in recent years by Topps and Upper Deck.

Topps started the trend in 2004, celebrating the Boston Red Sox’s historic championship with a 55-card boxed set that included 29 player cards, one manager card, a team photo card, eight season highlight cards, 10 playoff highlight cards, four World Series highlight cards, an ALCS MVP card, a World Series MVP card and a bonus oversized team card. A similar set was made by Topps for the Chicago White Sox after they won the 2005 World Series.

Upper Deck took the baton in 2006, issuing a 50-card boxed set for the World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals that included 25 player cards, 15 regular season highlight cards, nine World Series highlight cards and a World Series MVP card, along with a bonus oversized commemorative card. Upper Deck issued similar sets for the 2007 Boston Red Sox and 2008 Philadelphia Phillies.
