Full Version: What are Your Thoughts On Ted Ginn Jr.?

As you can tell, I am a big Ted Ginn Jr collector. I have collected him for about a year and a half now. I'm a big fan, and love the story behind him, but one big question still haunts me: Is he worth my time and money? So far, I've spent about $1,000 on Ginn stuff in the past 18 months, but I'm thinking to stop. A lot of people believe he is a bust, and I can see why they think that. He dropped some easy passes a few weeks ago versus New Orleans, and he hasn't made a serious impact for his team. So I'm wondering weather I should give up on the guy. I could sell my whole collection and make some bank, but on the other hand I wonder if he still hasn't "blossomed" yet. Will he get better? I need your opinions. Thanks.

Ginn Jr. definitely has some talent, but just hasn't lived up to the hype "yet". But the thing that makes this hobby great for player collectors is that it only takes one good season and their cards become HOT again! If it was my collection I would hang on to it for a little while longer he is on a team that has a pretty good offense so he could go off anytime, but since it is yours then you must decide! Good luck with your decision!

Wait until after the season until you make a decision whether or not you personally think he is a bust. You should make up your own mind about him. The Wildcat isn't really going to help his cause. However, do you think he might be put up on the block in the near future? Just imagine him on a pass-first team like the Saints or Colts....

Besides, why complain about the current circumstances he is in? It makes him more "invisible" and thus more affordable. That's how I would look at it. There are some really nice high-end cards I want of his and this season might be the thing to make them more affordable.

If you are really a fan of his, I don't see why you want to stop now.

Collect your favorite player regardless of their level of performance. You should be able to pick up your wants even cheaper. It makes less sense to have a bought a bunch of stuff based on his potential and media hype only to fleece it out for pennies on the dollar at this time. Receivers usually take 3-4 years to reach their comfort zone in an offense and start to perform.

Ginn just scored on a kick return of 100 yards. You still doubt him? smile.gif

100 yard kick off return looks good to me

Ginn just scored on a 101-yard kickoff return - 2nd one in the same quarter.

There goes my hope for cheaper prices....

And remember the 2008 draft? Chris Johnson was the fastest man of that draft. Do you know who was the fastest in 2007? wink.gif

not Ginn he was in a walking boot cause of his broken foot lol

Ginn has always been fast but receivers are supposed to be on point by season 3. I like the guy as well but now its looking to me like "career return man"

looks like today was his day! Maybe you should give him a little longer before you make a decision!

wasnt gonna give up on him cold in the first place. wanted to hear some opinions. i like the idea of waiting until the season is done and then reevaluating

Ginn will never live up to the top draft pick status he got. HE needs to get better at catching the ball before he runs and learn to take a hit.
The fact that miami is a run 1st offence and a very young QB doesnt help him very much. I think the benching opened his eyes up some. I am probly the biggest dolphins fan on this board and i was so upset at him after the saints game i wanted him Benched from teh receiving core all together.
I being a dolphins fan am a HUGE cridic(sp) of his and always will be. He isnt a #1 WR he is however Extreamy quick and would be a great #2 guy.
He redemed himself some yesterday in the eyes of the dolphins fans but he needs to show he can catch and run as well. I am glad he did what he did to help us beat the Jets but still hoping for a #1 wr next year in FA or the draft.
