Most of the baseball award races don't even seem close...

Pujols
Mauer
Lincecum
Greinke

But what do you guys think about the NL Rookie of the Year award this year?

Did Happ do enough to win it, or did his late season injury and struggle open the door for another player to win it?
Boston5761
Sandoval, he is eligible, right?

No. He played in too many games last season.

Hopefully Casey McGehee gets some love in this:

Tommy Hanson.
Hallsgator
Hanson, Happ, or Coughlan. Either one of them could win. I would love to see McGehee win it though.
snkpoct137
i love lincy as much as the next guy but i dont think its for sure his award.

Dan Haren, Wainwright and Carpenter are all gonna vy for that award as well.
ffman
Can you get any closer?

Wow, tight competition there.

I hope you are right smile.gif

It should be Casey McGehee without a doubt, but the BIASED media doesnt give him love because they are lame.

He is leading RBIs, Second in HR and up there in every other stat.

He also didnt play the whole year and played hurt the whole year.

Without a doubt it should be him.
bravesfan09
I still think Hanson has it.

Tommy Hanson lead in strikeouts, second in ERA and "up there in every other stat".

He also didn't play the whole year and is only 22 and pitched in a pennant race. Not much pressure playing for a team with no post-season hope.

No, that is just BA's ROY. MLB doesn't announce their winners until the WS is over.

Huh?

They don't look at stats? What do they look at then?

laugh.gif I was going to say the same thing.
baseballguy601
They look at stats but the low market teams don't get much credit sometimes.
Hallsgator
Hanley Rameriz-Marlins
Jason Bay-Pirates
Jason Jennings-Rockies
Scott Williamson-Reds
Evan Longoria-Rays
Huston Street-A's
Bobby Crosby-A's
Angel Berroa-Royals
Eric Hinskie-Blue Jays
Carlos Beltran-Royals
Ben Grieve-A's

Those are the ROY winners from small-market teams in the past 10-12 years. I think the ROY award is one of the least biased awards in baseball. Plus, looking at past winners, does it really matter if someone wins the ROY? lol
Icrackwax
Aside from the ROY competition, I really hope either Chris Carpenter or Adam Wainwright will the NL Cy Young. I know Lincecum is the favorite, but look at the record and ERA on Carpenter! I guess I'll keep m fingers crossed.

i hope it's wainwright. i think its between him, carpenter, lincecum and haren.

You got a nice card of Wainwright? I haven't seen too many Astros fans cheering on a Cardinal.
