Most folks know about my preoccupation,
obsession and deranged interest in acquiring
the Topps Allen & Ginter issues 2006-2008.

Well, the sickness has a new symptom -
2009 Allen & Ginter. I had planned on
purchasing 5 cases with an option for
a sixth. Financial obligations and other
responsibilities have crashed that party.

While I had to eat a substantial restocking
fee on the cases, my chase for the 2009
set has progressed due to the generosity
and thoughtfulness of the fine members
here at Trading Card Central.

July 29th, I received the following from
Bob, (road_runner_1964) . . .



That is every card (minus 1) that he pulled
from a two Hobby box break. An absolutely
remarkable gesture from Mr. 264, it will not
be forgotten.

August 3rd, I received these from

Unbelievable, John! It will not go without just
compensation.

My partner Shawn (sasports) and I had a trade involving
other sets. He volunteered to help me out going
after some of the funky stuff out of this years Allen & Ginter.
Well, to say the least, he was successful.

He claims to be my student, well, today the teacher
has his hat in his hands for you Shawn. Thank you, immensely!

Folks, let there be no doubts, financial obligations notwithstanding, I am
going to chase this set as Hard, if not Harder than last years stuff.

Just to let the Ginter master know -

Ginter has FINALLY pulled me in. Now I can see why so many obsess over this release each year. I think, for me, the Hoaxes and Creatures minis got me.

Retail has been a blast this year. I've already bought two blasters, and a third may be in my future (I actually turned down a purchase tonight but I'm already regretting it!).

I have 7 complete base sets 1-350 with the national pride thingies 75 available if anyone wants one just shoot me a pm and a decent offer!

I've considered going after the National Pride set but don't know if I have enough patience (trading patience) to go after all 75!

I'm trying to do the Highlights sketches right now and might go after bits and pieces of the Hoaxes/Creatures sets.
