Here's the thread for the August 2009 OFFICIAL TCC Baseball Group Box Break.

Here is a list of teams and the members who held them in the July break.
I will make adjustments to this list if teams change, and as people verify with me that they want to be in the August break, and as they pay for their teams.

Those who participated last month have first dibs at renewing their team purchase or choosing another team. So, if you participated in the July break, let me know what you would like to do.

Here are the rules:

Cost: $30--this covers the cost of the boxes and the shipping and supply costs.

The boxes we break will depend on member input and how much money we get. The more members, the more money, the more boxes (or the more higher end the boxes can be).

You can buy as many teams as you want, the first is $30 and each additional team is $25.

How the remaining teams will be distributed will depend on the number of teams left. Once that is determined we can discuss again how those teams will be distributed. Generally we just random off cards from those teams.

Here are some "decision rules," so there is no confusion.

If a card features more than one player from different teams, then there will be a random drawing between the owners of the teams featured on the card. The owner who is chosen by the random drawing will receive the card.

If a card features a player in a different jersey than the team labels on the card, the card will go to the team of the jersey the player is in.

Game used and auto cards from teams who are not chosen during a particular month will be randomly awarded amongst all members of the break.

If a card features a player in a college uniform, it will be awarded to the team the player was drafted by.

If a card features a player in a minor league uniform, it will go to the team that the minor league club is an affiliate of.

The rest of the cards that are from teams who are not chosen during a particular month will be randomly distributed amongst all participants in the break.

I am back in for the Red Sox and the Dbacks. I will drop the Mets. I will probably pick up a third team by the 15th deadline.

I did not see any new baseball releases this month. To get the box selection discussion going, here are a couple of list based on $450 (we usually get this participation level). Prices from Blowout website non weekend.

I am not sure about this month. I have lots of $ leaving my wallet this month. If I cant do this month I will definitely be back next month.

For now I like option #2 that taz99 suggested.

I am not a big fan of UD Black, but it's a product we've never done so it might be a nice change.

I am gonna have to bow out this month. I plan on coming back for September though. Even if the Tigers are taken. I hope they are still available then.

I agree...Black has a few nice hits but they are real hard to hit. Only other think I think is maybe change out Sweet Spot for Cuts...but Sweet spots might be better for the break.

I might pick up an other team to help out the group since a few ppl had to go. I have had alot of jobs pop up so I have no clue what is out so I can help to see what we can break. I think 09 Sweet spot is due soon. I think they normally come out a few weeks after the deadline ends.

Hey Jeremy I am going out of town this weekend. Deadline is the 15th right?? If it is and you need the money for any other team put my down and I'll pick and pay when I get back sunday. I don't what to hold the group up any. Right now it looks like we only have 300 to spend not counting me with a 3rd team. I am sure we are going to have to mix up the boxes some.

The due date is the 15th of each month...Or at least thats what we shoot for. A few months were ASAP.

Jeremy LMK if you need me to pick up another them to help out the break. It looks like we are waiting on 2 members to post if they are in or out.

As of updates
Maple, Dekno and 5toosweet are out and Taz whats to trade mets for the A's. Also a few ppl sent payments as well.

IF I pick up an other team that would put us at 350 to spend. That mean we can do #1 if we drop cuts, #2 if we drop ginter, or make a new choice. I got a boxes of 09 topps Chrome it is we alright for the price. If I get done with the job I got today early I see if I can make a mix I think the whole grop would like.

Prophecy Guy Nation paid for the Dodgers a couple days ago, so that's one more kept team!

Unless Blackjack takes another team we have $400 to spend.

If he takes another team, I like #1 or #2 above.

I am going to pick up another team. Twins, White Sox or Astros I like all the teams and can't choose. Plus I don't want to take a team that some one else wants. If you want put me down for the Twins and if anyone wants them I let them have them. Also waiting to see if I should send a little more then the 25 to help out with shipping, paypal fees and the boxes going over. Thats why I put up the last group of boxes up. The only thing is in Topps S2 jumbo is going to have a lot of base. Which might end up costing alot more the to ship.

Jeremy, in a previous post I dropped the Mets and added the Athletics.

If we can afford it, I would like to do option #2.

I said in a post above to put me down for the Twins. It was kind of mixed in...I should have posted again when I set the money.

Also I am going to be drop them next month. That way we wont have a mix up next month like we did a few months ago when I didn't see you had me done for 3 teams. What boxes are you going to order?

Shawn can get us #2 for $405.00.

So, if Bob pays we'll have an extra $25 for next month. If not, then that fits this month's budget.
