The Official BKB Box Break Club - August 09

Introduction

Hey guys and gals, we're back and ready for another month. Last month, we had a decent month as the boxes weren't very kind to us. We plan to break some new stuff this month which looks pretty sweet. We might have a few spots opening up as Mike Lindegarde is taking a leave for a few months.

How it Works (Official Rules)

Each member pays $50 ($52 if paying via PayPal). That covers about $500 in boxes, shipping, and supplies. You get one team (you cannot take a team that has already been taken) of your choice. The remaining 20 teams go to the members via a draft. This gives you a total of three teams. Every single card pulled out of a box that has a player from one of your three teams goes to you. The box breaks are done via a video break, so there is no question as to what was pulled.

Fees are due by the 15th. The boxes are ordered and the draft begins as soon as all fees are collected. As soon as the draft completes and the boxes are in, the video breaks are done. The cards are then shipped out by the box breaker as soon as the results have been posted. We decide as a group what boxes to break each month.

I would love to try 07-08 premier as it seem like that was usually loaded. if we didnt do that I would be open for anything as long as we kep the theme going of One higher end product each month. Maybe see what deals dacardworld and Blowout has. who else has any ideas

Oliver do you have any thing that you want to see broke. I want to do a box of 07-08 Premier, and if we all want to go big I would be up for exquisite if it come out when scheaduled. please give your opinion

I found some images of the upcoming Same-Day rookie cards from Panini. I guess these cards are comparable to Topps Rookie Premier autographs. You can see the photos on my blog here:

I think these cards look great. It looks like Panini might deliver some good products to break in the coming months. I can't wait to see what they do for the high end products.

Mike, That's funny about Blake Griffin. I'm excited about Panini products and hope they deliver big.

Hey guys, according to D&A's site SP Game Used has been pushed back to 8-19-09. I'd really like to do this product as it is supposed to be loaded. We had talked about 2007-08 Bowman Sterling a few months ago. I'm still game for doing it to get our Topps product in. I'm also game for 2008-09 Spx also. I'd like to do 2007-08 Premier, but it's still around $385/box.

With that said, there's a good chance that this might be my last month. Honestly, it's growing increasingly harder to justify spending $52 per month.

with people having to drop out and this being hard to fill every month I think we should talk about having this be a bi monthly break. I think that would be the smartest way to go, with this being said lets get the last spot filled and get this break going.

I mentioned going every other month a little while back. That didn't seem to go over to well. If that did happen, then this group break would be back within my budget.

What products did you guys decide on for this month?

Sorry for not really being active in the thread this month guys but I've been really busy with vacation and getting back to work. If going to a Bi-Monthly break is what we need to then that's fine with me. I think that it will fit in everybody's budget better. Bob I'll mark you as paid. I hope you can still be included in the breaks Bob.

As for products this month, I'd really like to do a 2009-10 Sp Game Used box but it doesn't come out until August 25th. I'm all for 2007-08 Bowman Sterling or 2007-08, or 2008-09 Spx.
