Time to get our August Multi-Sport Group break thread going! The focus will continue to be mid-high to high end products but the actual products broken will be decided by the group. The only prerequisite will be that it must be a box containing no more than 10 packs so this can be an all-Youtube break and we can more easily focus on higher end stuff.

We have formated this much like the old group where you join the group by selecting any available team (from any of the 4 sports - Football, Baseball, Basketball, or Hockey). Once we have filled up all 40 of our slots and collected the $75 slot fee we'll hold a draft (randomized order) where you can select another team (in any sport) and then use a reverse order 2nd round where you draft your 3rd team. You must hold a team from at least two different sports by the end of the draft. We will however allow trading following the draft so if you want you can end up with all 3 teams in the same sport via trade.

As usual you get every card pulled from all the boxes broken and we will do the best we can to split the budget evenly between the 4 sports. Because this will be an on-going monthly group you will have the right to retain ONE team from one month to the next but the other two teams will be drafted teams each month. If you have interest in joining us you can select any unclaimed team to start with...just let me know. Once we fill 40 slots we will continue to take names for the waitlist as well.

looks like a good product list for aug., always a fan of bowman sterling and happy to see opc premier getting added to the line-up.

if i could make a humble suggestion. 08-09 the cup hockey will be in about a week. maybe we could switch the 06-07 for 08-09? just a thought.

I prefer to not buy anything on pre-sale just because of the many delays that seem too common in the release of products these days. How about if we watch the release and pricing of 08 CUP and maybe we can add it into Septembers list instead of 06 Ultimate and 08 OPC Premier? That should give us an extra $80 or so to try to pick up something from 06 or 07 to close out the list for that month. Of course this is all subject to where the prices go once released as I'm showing Blowout right now at $375.

I am in and will stick with the Brewers again.

If I can make a suggestion for September...we probably shouldn't do 07 Sweet Spot Classic for baseball. I believe that the redemptions for that product expire this week and redemptions are fairly common in it. Because it is basically a one-hit box, I don't know if that is a good choice.

good point...too bad though as i really like the product.

Me too....the good news is that if you are a gambler, there is a good chance that prices will drop on it once people realize the redemptions aren't any good. Even though the redemptions aren't uncommon, they still usually only fall 1 or 2 to a case. I would gamble with it personally, but not sure if it is good for a group break.

I want to be in but I have a major challenge... I will be out of town on the 18th and returning the 23rd, and with little internet time if any. When will the draft take place? I really need it to go fast and before I leave... in the past it just drags on at a mind numbing pace... so when will the draft happen?

I had planned to keep the same 5 day schedule that we used last month but we may need to cut it down to 4 days as we'll have very little time from the payment deadline to the break. I would expect to hold the draft from Aug 15-19 so the bulk of the draft should be over by the time you leave town. No pressure as it's got to be your call but that's what I'll be shooting for.

So I loose a spot in the draft because people bought multiple slots?

The draft order is done via random.org so you have moved nowhere, you still could go first.

Just confirming this...where you are on this list has no effect where you draft as it's all randomized.
