Everybody is thinking about the money...

Isn't the infamous Scott Borias his mentor?

I just hope the kid actually makes it, because I work with kids and getting their GED's and Trade completions. They still do NOT make good money. Even people with Master's Degrees do not make good money in this economy. I guess we just have to sit back and watch.

Skipping college for the pros is one thing when it comes to BKB but skipping (2) years of high school in BB is wrong on many levels. IMO its a bad decision.

well colleges need to look at things like this and realize something.

i hope kids dont think that they could drop out get a GED then go to college when they are that young. at least do yourself a favor and prepare yourself for college courses and finish high school

A) He is graduating High School this year. He took all classes needed to get into College. Or is finishing them up over the Summer. He will have all the credits he needs to finish High School

cool.gif He is only going to a Community College so it isn't like he is going to a D-I college.

C) He has all the tools to be the next great player in the making. Now yes what if he gets hurt. But what if he doesn't

D) Boras is his agent, and thats mistake #1 and beyond. If I were Bryce, I would be representing himself right now.

E) He's going to end up on the Nats, so I am sure he's going to be in the bigs before he turns 18 in May of 2011.

Finally F) I think he has all the tools, but is being a little too much over-hyped. Yes he hit a ball 502 FT and hit a Cat-Walk never hit in the Trop before. And apparently people say it would have traveled out of Yankee Stadium and gone over 600 FT since it would have been outdoors. BUT! He hit the ball 502 FT with a METAL BAT. I mean to be able to hit the ball 502 FT at 16 no matter what bat you use is insane. But it was Metal, so Wood it would have been 425-450.

People hear dreams of the money and lime-light and immediately forget about education. I cannot tell you how many times my students stare at MTV or BET and see 24inch rims, gold, girls, money, drugs, liquor and just get lost in the realm i like to call "Crap". Education is a beautiful thing, and should be taken seriously. This kid needs to get his bachelors degree and work on his game at the Collegiate level before taking the plunge to the MLB.

I'd go for it in a heartbeat.... I'd support my son if he wanted to go for it and truly had the tools and clearly this young man does. If he gets the kind of signing bonus he should get he will be set for life whether he ever makes the bigs or not. How many people ever get that opportunity.

On another note, I really really do not appreciate the profanity...

EH,

I still say education is key........But if he succeeds....I guess he will be the big pull in Bowman Draft '10 and on a Duel 2011 Sweet Spot Auto with Strassburg called National Saviors!

He hit a 450 foot home run to the opposite field in a wood bat tournament.

IDK what to think about this kid. Seems like everyone is against him, and some people are already talking about steroids.
