I received this 2008-09 Topps Hardwood NPN today. I was a little disappointed because this NPN was a base card. It is numbered, however, NPN's are supposed to be for Inserts, not base! Shame on Topps!

I'm still happy I got something back in the mail. Does a NPN have to be an insert? I'm a little confused with this one!

Yours is a numbered rookie, so I guess it fits close enough to being an insert. It's not a base card like you would pull in every pack.

If I remember right RC's were seeded 1 per pack in 2008-09 Topps Hardwood. So I guess it comes close to being a variation or an insert. Maybe Topps was right.
