I've just recently gotten an interest in trying to collect some of these TTM auto, but I have a few questions. When sending a request via email, what do you normally use as the "subject". Do you just put "Autograph Request" in the subject? Also, what kinds of things do your letters contain. I don't want to make it too long, but I feel kinda strange sending "hey i like [insert movie/team here]. please send me your autograph".

Good questions.
In the subject area I usually put "autograph request" or "quick question" meaning that in the short email I will politely ask if they would please send me an autograph.
In the letter content I keep short and polite. Something along the lines of...
"Dear So-and-so,
Hello and thank you for reading this. My name is Sherwood Dewer and I love baseball. I think you are/were a great player and really enjoy/enjoyed watching you play.
Could I have your autograph please sir? That would really make my day!
Thanks again and good luck. Take care and God bless.
A fan,
Sherwood Dewer

Or something to that effect.
