Full Version: Trader of the Month?

I don't know if there was a Trader of the Month. But I think it would be pretty cool, like we could have nominations and base them on how many trades they made in that month. If they had one failed trade they instantly can't be nominated. We could also on the timing of the shipping and if the trading partner was happy about the transaction. Comments appriciated.

They would only be DQ'd if their failed transaction was their fault. Good Idea, I believe there was a trader of the month which was given to the person who had the most transactions in the month.

I think Bob used to do that based on transactions in a month. Not sure if anyone else has access to that data or if that is just one he can see.

Alex, thats what I meant. This would be pretty cool to bring back though.

I love the idea.

I think Bob is the only one who has access. One of the issues is someone needed to verify that all the trades were really trades as people set up sales in the trade area. It is not as frequent now but still happens.

I am not sure why these measurements mean so much, that people want them or need them. Isn't it about helping your pc/set or a fellow members pc/set, rather than how many you do? Same with posts, isn't it about the quality vs. quantity? I know there are times where I merely post "Nice pull" or something, but there are also posts like this where I post two paragraphs. I guess what I am saying is while having the title of "Trader of the Year" is nice, it is really meaningless to me. What was more important to me was all of the great trades I made to help my PC and set building needs or the other members.

That last line is true. It would also be fun to see how many trades people made and also it would maybe want people to trade more.

I am not sure if that would make people trade more. Lower postal rates might help, as most are finding it difficult to make a 1 card or lower end trade when you are spending $1+ in postage.

My trading has been down recently but it seems some are still going strong so not sure if mine is down due to the impact of a stale list, higher postal rates, or who knows? If anyone wants to trade lmk. laugh.gif

Let me see what I can do to determine and announce the Trader of the Month winners from April 2008 - March 2009 and then also to take my private tool related to this data and make a public version for displaying a Trader of the Month leader board.

It appears so. Looking at announcements and then awards in member profiles, I'm not seeing anything past March 2008 in the way of Trader of the Month awards. sad.gif

I'm currently "ripping out the guts" of my related application and will break it into a number of applications for the team and the entire Collector Zone. That way, we can breathe new life into this area. wink.gif

John,

You're acting like someone who thinks they might be getting an award soon. tongue.gif
