So, i was sitting here wondering when I am going to get a redemption I have into Donruss for a 3rd round draft pick from 2007 for a auto...(he's only had about 2 years, even though I turned it in about 5 months ago) when I got to thinking about the whole redemption process and how many people hate it when I came up with an idea that might make people "like" it. Why don't they randomly pull each week a card that went unredeemed and raffle it out to people who are waiting. Seems then people would be less anxious to get their cards redeemed AND it might motivate the manufacturer to fill the orders a little more quickly....

Now I'm sure there are a lot of people that disagree with me, but redemption aren't that bad in my opinion. It does take a little time, some companies more than others, but card companies have vastly improved the redemption process. First off, they send extra with the redemption a lot of the time. The card companies probably don't like it any better than we do. They have to spend extra money for the mailers and shipping. Redemption cards aren't ideal, but are good for the hobby. Would you rather get a redemption so you can actually get the card or just not get the card at all? As for your idea, I think they already do that with NPN cards.

I didnt mind the Redemption process until they sent me an Ichiro gu, Ken Camminiti auto, Hunter Pence 08 Masterpieces auto, Boog Powell auto, and Matt Lind auto for a Scott Kazmir/Cole Hamels dual auto

Well, the NPNs are more of a result of the fact that they have "hits", not redemptions. Essentially because they have the hits, it becomes a "lottery" if a purchase is required. If they only sold complete boxes, it likely wouldn't be an issue as everyone would be getting the same results (in UD words.."on average").

You must be very lucky with your redemptions, I have never gotten anymore than I have ever sent in for redemptions.

As far as the question as would I rather get it now or later? Honestly, if I bought a car, I would kind of expect the steering wheel to come with it and any result other that that would not be acceptable.

....but they are an evil that has become acceptable, and just thought this would be a way they could make it more bearable. Especially...now that I think about it...so many cards go unredeemed for one reason or another, which brings me to another gripe...very quick expiring redemptions. UD has started going to 1 year in some products...when sometimes the redemptions themselves take longer than that...oh well

That really sucks dude. Did you complain to the company that you wanted your card not replacements?
