Another is that me and leedawg talked for a while about the redemption for the DPR Auto /10, and we could never come to a trade agreement. Eventually, after a couple months, he offered me a better price, and I jumped on it!

Either the Draft Picks Rights Auto EXCH for $25, or a Playoff National Treasures Jumbo Number patch /25 for $11, or a Playoff National Treasures Reebok Logo for $7

On a magnet board in my room, so that all of the cards are displayed.

-2005 Sweet Spot Gold RC Auto /100
Before this card all I had was his 2005 Bowman Chrome base rookie. Then during a trip to the in-laws I found out there was card shops in the area, so my wife and I went in to scope them out. Low and behold the Sweet Spot rookie auto was sitting there in the front display case, I was ecstatic! I wanted that card! I held it, I touched, I inspected it, I LOVED IT!!! Then, the bad news...I had to pay for it and my wife wasn't going to let that happen at that time. So I handed it back to the shop owner and we went on our way.

Fast forward 3 months later (now I have some money!) We are visiting the in-laws again...I'm thinking there is no way that Campbell is still there, but what the heck let me go check it out. I walk in, the guy remembers me...pulls out the Campbell and said "I knew you'd be back for it" The rest his history and the card is now mine!!!

-Aside from the 05 Sweet Spot I'd have to say the 07 SPA Chirography

-Not sure, I would have to guess the 05 Contenders RC Ticket Auto

8. What one specific card has eluded you till this day? and why?
-ugh, the 05 Topps Pristine RC Auto /100! I don't know how many of these I've been out bid on at the last second or just simply forgot about the ending time on ebay! I also worked a trade for this card on another site and before the deal was officially posted I was banned from the site FOR LIFE for "spamming" TCC.

9. What specific card (non base) do you have the most of?
-I have a couple dups: 05 SPx RC Jsy/Auto /1275, 05 Throwback Threads Rookie Hoggs Auto /150 and 07 Gridiron Gear Patch /50.

10. How do you store your collection?
-In a 2 row box thats made to fit toploaders/one touches

After losing out on a Wimbley I really wanted I was able to contact the buyer through eBay and asked him about it, he said it was going into his Browns collection, so I asked if he had any duplicate Wimbleys...and he ended up sending this to me for free!

Most Inscription/nickname autographs cost me no less than $20, but I got this for only $5!

Let's see, I don't spend too much on singles for my collection, just buy packs and boxes, so whatever I pull that I don't want I trade for...but purchasing...

Had to be this one, I really liked AJ Hawk, and when I saw this I had to jump on it (fall of 2007)...cost me $51.45 delivered


8. What one specific card has eluded you till this day? and why?

Kellen Winslow Jr. 2004 Ultimate Rookie Signatures /150. For the life of me I can't land this card. I even got the Ultimate Signature, not the true Rookie version, which I'm after. Always get sniped of just miss bidding on it. I will still get it, someday, even though he was traded! I really want it because I love the design and Winslow is one of my favorites!


9. What specific card (non base) do you have the most of?

That's a tough one. I have two Michael Bush SP Authentic Rookie Patch Autographs and same with the Brian Brohm SP Authentic. That would be the firs that comes to mind...I do want to go after as much of a print run of a card some day, similar to what Faulkrules has been doing with that Lee Evans Patch Card from Donruss Classics!


10. How do you store your collection?

Have a shelf where I display 10 or so cards in one touch holders, and will rotate to display my favorites. Since I still only have about 9 Ohio State inscription/nickname autographs, I display all of those on a shelf in one touches.

The cards that are not displayed are all in one touches in a drawer each in their own graded team bag. All my favorite/PC cards get their own one touch and team bag .

About 20 Wimbleys have a one touch, and all the rest have a binder. I'd like to get all the rare Wimbleys (#'d to 50 or less) and any autograph of his in a one touch and get em all framed up! Maybe by set (Score, Contenders, Topps Total, etc).

1. What is your #1 favorite card?

- This is a tough choice. Probably my 2005 Fleer Authentix Majestic Logo Sammy Sosa GU piece, particularly because I pulled it myself from a box. The product offers a patch variant, but this card was not labeled as a patch - yet it contains a logo.

2. What is your favorite parallel or insert (not auto or GU)?

- From 2001 (or 2002) Topps - the Sosa card from the "United We Stand" subset honoring our country after 9/11. It shows Sosa wearing the flag on his cap.

3. What is your favorite Auto card?

- Either my 2004 Prime Cuts II Silver Century Sammy Sosa autograph 21/21 (my only Sosa autograph) or my 2005 Reflections David Wright/Jose Reyes dual autograph /99.

4. What is your favorite GU card?

- The aforementioned Sosa majestic logo.

5. What is the best story in regards to obtaining a specific card?

- Probably my 2004 Prime Cuts Sosa autograph. Out of the blue, a member I've never heard of sends me a message regarding this card. He offers me a price of $20 (!!) but said he would prefer cash. I was used to money orders for safety's sake, so this made me a little suspicious, I admit (after all, this guy was a very inactive member at the time!). Well, thanks to the advice of a couple of guys I went along with the purchase. The purchase went great and the member in question turned out to be one of TCC's greatest. He's a guy who happens to try to um..COLLECT HARD!

6. What is your best "steal" for your collection?

- By far the 2004 Prime Cuts Sammy Sosa autograph 21/21. A $100 card for $20!

7. What is the most expensive card in your collection...what did it cost you?

- For most expensive I have two cards of equal book value. My 2004 Prime Cuts Sosa autograph cost me $60. My 2005 Reflections Wright/Reyes dual autograph came from a hobby box which cost about $60-80.

Most "costliest" card came from eBay. I RARELY buy anything. A couple of years ago, however, I went on a brief eBay spree buying a whole 6 items for my collection. The most expensive was this:

8. What one specific card has eluded you till this day? and why?

No card has "eluded" me because honestly I don't go for many. If I had to name card which I want but have not been able to get, it would probably be Sammy Sosa's A Piece of History 500 HR Club bat card, which runs anywhere from $50-150.

9. What specific card (non base) do you have the most of?

- No clue. Base-wise I have close to 10 copies of several of Sosa's lower end rookie cards (Fleer, Upper Deck).

10. How do you store your collection?

- Base and low-value inserts (and rookie cards) go into a binder. Others go into toploaders and either a safe or a plastic box.

I have a feeling I'll be updating this as my collection grows.

I purchased this card off eBay for around $40. It books $120. Some may not see it as a steal, but for me, it was.

The Marino auto from Exquisite and the Bryant auto from Hardcourt cost me quite a bit. I'd rather not disclose the price.

A Greg Maddux autograph with him in an Atlanta Braves jersey. The ones I have found are either listed for more than I'm willing to pay, or are already in collectors' personal collections.

I don't think I have multiple copies of a card. I'd have to check.

All of my patches, autographs, and hall of fame relics are placed in magnetic holders and team bags. My other game-used are placed in toploaders. They are all stored in white storage boxes (I forget the count but it has three rows).

I was going after Drew Bennett cards a few years back, so was another guy who happened to be on another board I posted on. I lost an auction for a sweet Ultimate 1/1, I posted a thread about loosing the card on E-Bay not knowing he was the winner. Well a little time passes & I get a Thick mailer along with a nice letter & it's from him. The package contained about 10 to 15 Bennetts none of which I had & some were quite rare, along with these was the 1/1 Ultimate card I didn't win in said auction. Some of you may know him from old Beckett, SCF or other sites as ScubaSteve, great guy.

Hate the term, I've gotten great buys before but I've never stold anything. I stoped using the term after reading a "I stold This" thread & it was a card I had sold. Hard to say what was the best buy after I buy something I like to forgot what I've spent, lol.

Mid-November I spotted a lot of 2000 SPx that included a 264. Couple days go by and seller ends listing, I was PO'd. So I email the seller to find out what gives, no response. I let some time go by and send several other emails with zero response. Dec 28th, send another email, and on the 30th I get a response with they buyers email. I email the buyer, explain my weird focus and he asked me to email after the holiday and he would look for it. January 3rd, I get an email response saying that he found it and for me to send him my address. I did and received it today. A wonderful freebie....first every football SPx 264 freebie....shoutout to Dino Hazell (ebay: guywithstuff ). Oh...and it is a Packer (ex). All my other stories can be found here 264 Stories

Low and behold out of the very last pack he pulled the Fred Taylor auto below.. After picking my jaw up off the floor (and as he was sliding it into a top loader) I asked if there was any way we can work out a payment plan for the card. After a quick check of the Beckett he handed me the card and thanked me for my loyalty to his shop and told me he'd much rather see it in my collection then his display case.. The rest is history lol, my very first Fred Taylor auto-

I have a binder for base and base rc inserts...

I have a box I built out of 1x6's that has 4 rows, and a 5th row that is 1.5x wider than the rest to hold supplies, in this box are Inserts #d 24 or less, GU #d 49 or less, and any #d autos.. All those cards are in magnetic snap cases.

Everything else gets toploaded and stuffed in a 2 row shoe box.

All cards are sorted alphabetically by brand

I got this in a lot off Ebay for about $10 where it wasn't specified what was in the lot, it just had a picture, so if you didn't click on the auction you wouldn't have known it was in there. This card is worth over $100, I believe, and is incredibly rare. I've only seen it one other time.

7. What is the most expensive card in your collection...what did it cost you?
I honestly have no idea. I think I have a few that book over $100, or at least around that. I think I paid $60 for Clark's 2001 Donruss Diamond King Reprints auto: DKR-18 (#/88). It was a redemption, and I have no idea how many were actually redeemed, but I'm sure there are a lot less than 88 out there. I guess there's at least 25.

8. What one specific card has eluded you till this day? and why?
Clark's 1993 Finest Refractor, because it's so darned expensive! I have a hard time justifying paying so much for a card that isn't a super-low number or at least autographed.

1998 Will Clark Leaf Fractal Materials X-Axis Die-Cut: 55 (#/1000), I have two of these. I don't buy multiples of any one card because I have no need for more than one. I bought an extra one of these by accident, didn't realize I already had it.

Binders. Extra thick GU/autos are in 100-count cases. Oh, and the in-person auto is in a frame.

Steve(acecards) and I had "Many" heated discussions during the presidential election. He sent this card to me after winning one of his contest. Its a 1/1 from our very own sketch artists Ted. Additionally, it came from his daughters PC collection. Steve and I have had our share of altercations but Steve is one of the best members on here. He is a walking wealth of card collecting knowledge and has the best collection I have ever laid my eyes on. He may be a conservative but he knows sports cards.

All game-used and autographed cards are in individual sleeves, toploaders and team bags. They have their own dedicated drawer in a chest of drawers next to my desk. All base cards are in plastic cases, while inserts and parallels are in binders. Loads of silica gel pouches everywhere to help with the 100% humidity here!

In 1985 I bought the Cardinals team set and this was missing from it. At the time I didn't realize what an update set was and then went out to find this card and now for some reason when I see one at a show I buy it.

There was dealer that was looking for Kirby Puckett RC's and I ran home and grabbed a few that I had. He gave me the 53 Bowman Color Musial for about a dozen Puckett RC's and then when I was walking away he called me back and said that he thought that he was taking advantage of me and gave me a 1960 Topps Musial also.

This College Game Worn Logo Patch off of the Torch on the front of the shoulder /10 (you can kind of see it, it is the right shoulder)

Probably the Gold Status /24 Die Cut

3. What is your favorite Auto card?
Gonna go with this Bowman Chrome Printing Plate auto

4. What is your favorite GU card?
This Jumbo College Jersey /25

5. What is the best story in regards to obtaining a specific card?
OK, so I was hosting a group break around last October, and My buddy, hockeyfan1208 aka Nasser, knew I was looking for the Playoff Prestige Xtra Points Black /10 card to finish my set. Well, one of the guys in MY group break knew I collected Ainge, and failed to make me aware that he had zed card. Long story short, Hockeyfan traded for it and held it WAY over my head =)
6. What is your best "steal" for your collection?
I would guess the 2008 Topps Chrome Red Ref /25 for about 5 bucks delivered. Never seen another one, and would assume they would go for a good deal more than that
7. What is the most expensive card in your collection...what did it cost you?
Most of the 1/1's I have cost me around 15 to 20 bucks each, so I guess mostly all of them
8. What one specific card has eluded you till this day? and why?
2008 PLAYOFF CONTENDERS AUTO!!! It is an SP in the set /108 and books ONE-HUNDRED AND TWENTY
9. What specific card (non base) do you have the most of?
The school colors inserts /1000, (Have 4)
10. How do you store your collection?
Base, Inserts, Parallels, #d, Base GU's and Autos all go into a binder with pages. The higher end stuff goes into magnetic holders and into a 300 card box with the divider taken out.

2007 PW Artifacts Parallels - I really liked these for some odd reason

2007 SP Authentic Patch Auto /725 - I ended up with a couple of these with the Titans logo. By far - the coolest GUed cards I have.

5. What is the best story in regards to obtaining a specific card?
Hmmm. I really can't remember which card it was but it was a 1/1 - Oh yeah nevermind it was a NT Letterman /7 of PW. It was the first one that you could bid on. At the time I didn't have much to spend so I contacted my nemesis who loved to run the price up on me and asked him if he could not bid. In return I would send him a card that was /25 that he didn't have and the next 1/1 was his. After the auctions end he contacted me. He said he has been out of town. So basically there was no need for an email. But like the nice person I am, I still sent him the card and the next 1/1 that I seen was emailed to him so he could buy it.
6. What is your best "steal" for your collection?
Another hmm moment. It's been a while. I know I had a few PW & Rady steals but the first thing that comes to my mind is a Donovan McNabb autographed authentic football. I got it for $50 I believe.
7. What is the most expensive card in your collection...what did it cost you?
Another hmm. I spent somewhere between $275 and $400 or so for a PW card once.
8. What one specific card has eluded you till this day? and why?
I've yet to see the PW Elite Status Black (non autoed) 1/1 and the remaining Leaf Limited lettermans that I need.
9. What specific card (non base) do you have the most of? Probably either the SP Authentic Jsy/Patch Auto /725 of PW
10. How do you store your collection? PW is stored in one touch cases (even the base) and the rest are a mix of one touch and top loaders.
