In several recent interviews, Mickey Rourke, who portrays Randy "The Ram" Robinson in the critically acclaimed film "The Wrestler" is saying that he is heading to Wrestle Mania 25 in Houston. It looks as if he will positioned in a feud against Chris Jericho. It is not clear at this time whether he will actually be working a match or just appearing in some other capacity. Vince McMahon was said to have done a complete 360 on his feelings on the film after Rourke and co-star Marisa Tomei both garnered Academy Award nominations for their roles in the movie.

Well not necessarily true...he tried the following and almost killed the WWE with:

WBF, XFL, acquisition of WCW

Also not working with Randy Savage or putting Bruno Sanmartino in the HOF qualify as STUPID.

I live 2 and a half hours from Reliant Stadium

My brother just got tickets to Mania.

Weekend after my anniversary and we are supposed to do something

Told her why not do it the weekend before and hoping that works

WOULD LOVE TO MAKE MY FIRST MANIA

Just read last night that Rourke will now not participate in Wrestle Mania 25. Both he and Chris Jericho appeared on Larry King Live a few days ago to start an angle that was supposed to lead to a possible match between the two. Looks like he probably got some "advice" that working a match would be bad for his comeback as he is trying to continue his acting career.

In response to news breaking today of Mickey Rourke pulling of out of his proposed match with Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 25, Vince McMahon issued the following statement to E Online:

"I am pleased that Mickey Rourke will be in attendance at WrestleMania to support the WWE Superstars who support him and the film in which he stars, The Wrestler."

Academy Awards are on 2/22 and WM is 4/5...just wait until the AAs are over and Rourke may be back in...at this point WWE has no outsider help to boost general interest.

If the assault on Steamboat won't bring The Ram out of retirement, I don't know what will!!

Rouke lost and Jericho just beat up Ricky Steamboat.

Ok seriously.... Jericho vs. Rourke will be as bad as Big Show vs. Meaweather Jr. No one will care.

I would like to see Jericho vs Flair.
