Any chance there will be some updates to the hockey section? I have a list for some players that is 10 times the size of your checklists? Example, Drury has over 900 cards and yours has 145?????????????

Would like to continue to load cards but want to makes sure this service is going to be here in the future???????????

Jrlenox is the founder of Openchecklist. If you send him a PM, I'm sure he'll be able to give you some information on updates.

This project seemed to carry so much merit & promise, a key resource for the hobby.
I'm rather baffled by the overall reception, and the course it has taken.

Thanks for the interest ..

truth is ...

We did start out well over the winter .. and then I, who was doing most of the coding and data work, got a little burnt out .. took two weeks away from a computer in April .. then the day job really picked up .. and the last thing I want to do now when I get home from work is go back on the computer.

Bob's done a great job with TCC .. the audience and demand is growing and desperate for OC to develop and keep up .. and .. for the last few months .. I haven't been here to meet the demand ..

any ideas on next steps ? e.g. how to get more people involved ?

Understand everything Jim, with a capital U.

That said collectors are a demanding bunch, even when it's free..lol Perhaps this has merit in some cases, but without input it makes it really hard on someone like yourself(IE:trying to make the right moves, improvements to hold their attention) and keep the product innovative & usefull. The new release of 4 similar sites isn't helping either.

Let me see If I can touch base with some of the 20-30 people I brought to the OC and see what they say...

One thing the updates, add something to the main page to at least let them know you're dedicated to this project, even though you need 36Hr days and 9 day weeks to do so wink.gif

reitterate the the need for input from them(you) the user!

It's early... perhaps someone will add further thoughts. Maybe I will receive some quality feedback.

TakeCare.. you have grabbed the attention of a decent user base, now to get them a tad more involved by using the "Match lists feature" etc.

What you need is a team of dedicated people, one for each sport and one for non-sports.

Give the team the ability to help you put in updates and verify corrections.

Update the news even when there is no update, a person visiting the site as it is currently would assume it's an abandoned project.

I'd love to help out on the baseball end of things, if you might notice I'm closing in on 20,000 cards entered. As a computer geek with database experience I'm sure I could be an asset to openchecklist.com

First off, jrlenox great job on OC!!! I think this will work out to be a great resource. I actually feel that after so many years of having my cards just sit in boxes, I will finally organize them and do something with them.

I agree with nerk01, you need to build yourself a team. Might not have to be super dedicated but enough to keep things rolling. As this is a free site, I am sure you can find individuals who would donate their time to the project. I would definitely put in an hour or two per week to make sure such a website continues to prosper.

My common card (two cents),

Thanks for the feedback/suggestions and continued interest in this important project!

Over the next few weeks, Jim and I will discuss the current status of the project and the plan to move things forward. We'll be sure to update everyone as well.

Once the new plan is known, we'll also do whatever is necessary to combine the resources of our 6000+ members (between the 2 sites) to make OC a viable hobby tool. wink.gif

Great site and I have added some of my collection. Just seeing if it was still a source to use.
