With the National Hockey League's lockout in its 45th day, the NHL Players' Association's resolve is not showing any signs of wavering.
NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr kept the players informed of where the union stands this week with a short letter to the membership outlining their attempts to continue negotiations.
"At every opportunity we have continued to state that we are ready to meet and willing to discuss all open issues, including the owners' last offer," Fehr wrote.
"Nonetheless, to date, their group has declined to commit to a meeting unless it can dictate what the agenda is. We will update you further as soon as there is anything more to report. Regards, Don."
Both NHLPA counsel Steve Fehr and NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly spoke over the phone on Tuesday but there were no major developments and no formal meetings have been scheduled.
