I did this for 06 NT a few years ago and it was really fun, so I decided to do it again! The idea is to set a budget at the price of a box, then scour eBay for an equal number of hits that are all PC. Here are the results:

2006 Classics - $80.00 (BOC) - Three hits per box.
1) Deacon Jones GU/250 - $3.94
2) Peyton Manning GU/250 - $8.00
3) Jim Thorpe GU/100 - $68.00

TOTAL SPENT inc S+H = $79.94 smile.gif

I always wanted a Thorpe for my HOF PC!!! If this was my box I would be pretty happy, even without an auto (most of which were crappy in 06 Classics). It took about 2 weeks to get everything. I am going to try this for another 2006 product I like, Gridiron Gear. Thanks for looking! biggrin.gif

that would be nice...but what about inserts, RCs and parallels?

--sometimes those are some of the higher valued cards, might make it tough though to match value---unless you do it locally...i find lots of nice cards in people's .25 bins

This certainly is the way to go. Forget about busting packs and just spend the cash on singles you want. Not as fun, but at least you get cards you actually want in your collection.

Good concept for those interested in just collecting the hits. I opened a couple of boxes of that product and don't think my hits were anywhere near that good. At least I don't remember anymore. I have been trying to build that set for a while now, but I am still missing a bunch of the HOF and rookies. Sort of have given up. laugh.gif
