I don't really like the changes at all. Yes, they are reducing fees to list, but they are raking more in on the back end will final value fees. I think it will end up hurting a lot of sellers big-time.
Yes, some lower value cards might get listed because of the change for people who don't sell much on ebay (so for the casual and set collector it may be great), but many people who's cards sell for more than a couple of dollars, and people who sell higher dollar items are going to creamed with much higher costs, discouraging more sales on ebay. Not sure how the changes really effect ebay store sellers as I know that was a big part of the change too.
Just my thoughts. I only list higher dollar stuff that makes it worth my time to sell on ebay, so for me these changes are not a positive thing.

I think this will have both positive and negative impacts.
I see what some of you have wrote and agree:
Good side more cards will probably be listed.
Bad side higher fees, more convoluted pages of base, inserts, etc.
To be honest I used to sell on Yahoo when there were no listing fees (postage was cheaper, etc) and I would list inserts and got rid of a bunch of stuff that I had dupes of. Currently I don't do that because of the fees and costs involved with ebay. I also don't buy them because the fees and postage are just too much, even on low end rookies. If I am down to 1 or 2 rookies or short printed base cards then I will, but 5 or 10 I usually just keep posting my lists on TCC.

I understand the for sellers the FVFs and the paypal fees can add up and I know as a buyer that shipping costs can be expensive. I am not disputing any of that, nor am I disputing the benefits of using other sites including this one. My question is this however, Is there another site that gives you the exposure that Ebay does? Set aside all the negatives for a minute. Is there another site where, as a seller, as many people will see your cards or as a buyer, you can find as many cards you are looking for. Honestly, I don't know the answer to this because I haven't looked around. Judging by what I read however the answer in both cases would be no (obviously if you are a collector or seller of a very specific range of items there may be more specialized sites for you) but in general ebay gives you the most bang maybe not the most bang for your buck but certainly the most bang.
This is the only sports card site I frequent besides sportslots and Becket for the checklists and I will occasionally check out the ebay sports collectibles forum, but I do frequent more than a dozen reptile related websites on a regular (almost daily basis) There are two of them that are constantly going at each other. Most of the members on one will tell you that they hate the other one but unless they have been banned from it they will still sell there. Why? because that site offers them probably 10 -20 times the exposure to their products. As buyers almost everyone looks there as well, why, again, probably 10-20 times the listings. As with the card situation just because its the biggest does not mean its the best. All the added exposure exposes you to more scammers and deadbeats but for sheer volume you can't beat it.
You may decide not to use ebay any more and that's fine. For some people it has or is becoming a less and less attractive option. For most people however I would still say it the best way for them to move product or find what they want.
