Dwight when I send bigger stuff like that I usually put box cardboard on each side. It is not perfect, but it might help.

I sent in toploaders and used the envelope they came in for backing (ok on 6 of them as we had that one with two in it). Hopefully the postal service won't go nuts on them as I put Do Not Bend on them
