OK time for a small bit of info I just gathered on this (I think) sweet looking stuff. I busted a Box about a month ago and pulled a Cerlton Fisk GU'd, a Kat (softball player) Auto, some older Hockey great Auto and what I figured was a decent hit a Certified Cut (CC-8) Dick Vitale Auto (#'d 7/10)--SWEET (or so I thought).

Imagine what I thought when I saw another Dick , #CC-8 #'d 07/10 on ebay!!

An obvious mistake in printing--or was it ? My thinking was that there were 10 different cut sig's and each had a different saying. Upon calling Donruss it turns out that Certified Cuts #CC-8 is indeed ran at a quanty of 10
BUT
the card #'d CC-8 (#'d to 10) appears in the following
Certified Cuts 2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10/11 thus equaling 100 Certified cuts of Dick Vitale. The customer support person verified just that

So I researched a cpl more players and it doesn't add up. For instance Dennis Rodman is shown at having a card #CC-7 with a sequence or 40--yet in the Certified Cuts 2 group he has a sequence of 20 and he shows up on no other list!!! So where are the other 20 Cuts? Or are there actually 60 Cuts--40 in the main Certified Cuts and 20 in Certified Cuts 2 ?
SO BUYER BEWARE--because
HERE is the real question to ask when buying or trading for a Cut--Exactly how many exist ? It's like the Tootsie Pop--the world may never know!!

I think it's crap that they KEPT all the different Vitales (or whoever) at their original card #'s (CC-8) and then broke them down into different subsets---you would figure to at least to NOT have them all remain at their original #'s (CC-8) --shouldn't they have at least marked them CC/ CC1/ CC2--etc. then the number 8 (if that makes any sense).

If you check the "Online Checklist" at Donruss http://www.donruss.com/checklists.cfm you will find that CC-11 Robert Parish is in but ONE Certified Cuts "set" (Certified Cuts) with a sequence number of 100. An example of what I speak of can be found in
****Certified Cuts 2****
CC#----- Person------Seq. Run (Qty.)

#7 Dennis Rodman 20 (40 in Cert. Cuts)
8 Dick Vitale 10 (10ea. in Cert Cuts plus Cuts 2-11)
9 Marques Haynes 20 (20 in Cert Cuts)
13 Jake LaMotta 55 (45 in Cert Cuts/ 20 in Cert. Cuts#3)

14 Jim Courier 25 (25 Cert Cuts)
19 Brutus Beefcake 10 (20 in Cert Cuts/ 20 in Cert. Cuts#3)
21 Steve Cauthen 50 (50 in Cert Cuts)

So can anyone tell me exactly how many LaMotta Cuts there are? My guess is 120 (45+55+20).
I guess what kinda irks me as a collector is having more then one card (version) marked with the same Card #. For example LaMotta's card is #CC-13 yet one verson is 01/55--55/55 another verson 01/45-45/45 and yet another (I think) at 01/20-20/20. Seems a bit misleading to have so many listed in Certified Cuts--just to find out thats not all their is. Maybe it's just me

according to Cust Service "I Think" each set of ten are different sayings, ie. PTPER 10 Each--slammin.... 10 Each etc (up to the 10 sets)

Based on that then there are 10 versions, but they should qualify that on the back of the card or somewhere. I would be more miffed if I bought it thinking there were only 10 and find out there are 100, but even so it still sounds like there are only 10 of that saying, so the number is correct, but it would have been nice if they would have marked them #CC8A, CC8B, etc.
