Collector Zone _ Seal of Approval _ TODAY'S KUDOS GO OUT TO...

Posted by: vicsten Jul 26 2007, 03:43 PM

This thread is being created to give each and every one of you the opportunity to give a shout out to someone, who in your eyes, lends something special to TCC. If someone took the time out to check something for you, if they made you smile, if they sent you something unexpectedly in the mail without expecting something in return, if they made your day in some way, if you just want to tell everyone who you think makes TCC the special place that you like to visit, by all means... give a shout out! Once a day, once a month, once a year. It doesn't matter how often you post here, just so you know that when you take the time out to acknowledge some of your friends and those you think are great members, you may just be making someone else's day. Give it a try! You'll be glad you did! Thank you. -Vickie

"YES! Oh thats a sweet card!" - Ken biggrin.gif

Posted by: gopackgo Jul 26 2007, 04:54 PM

I have 2 shout outs for today:
First goes to thesobons (robert) for sending me some awesome Brett Favre cards for my PC 2 weeks ago. I got many new ones that I needed, and they were absolutely free through a contest so I'm deeply grateful for them.

Secondly goes to aceecards. I love watching your breaks, whether it be posts or videos...your sweet breaks today and always are something to be remembered along with your memorable quotations laugh.gif

Thanks to these 2 members who help make TCC as awesome as possible for an online trading card website!

Posted by: bravesfan09 Jul 26 2007, 05:23 PM

How can a topic like this be thought of without 1 certain guy popping right into your mind? Thats right im talking about the great KoolJazz1966! Ken is an inspiration to us all in some way or another. He is a great member, very respectful, dependable, kind, and he fights to defend this land we call home! What more of a sacrifice can you make than what he has made? I started in this hobby with not a single friend. But iv ended up making so many. And no matter what this guy always sticks out! Ken thank you for being a friend, and more importantly thanks for doing what you do brother! God Bless you and your family! Heres to a live dual box break Jazzman/Chippa in 2008!

Posted by: msuwendy Jul 26 2007, 09:43 PM

My first shoutout goes to skatalite for always helping me out....especially with online auctions! IMO, he's one of the reasons why TCC is such a special place!

My second shoutout goes to Aceecards! He helped me to secure a tough Bibby card I was after and I also received some super pulls from 2 mystery packs I bought from him. Always an awesome guy to deal with!

Posted by: ffman Jul 26 2007, 09:49 PM

Another shout out too: kooljazz1966, for what he is doing for our country.

aceecards, for being the box break master.

mvpujols#5, for doing his best with his baseball team.

The folks that I have dealt with on this site, whether buying, posting, showing off or just wasting time have been pleasant and professional. The ones that have put a "smile-on-my face" include (in no particular order)
skatalite - unending patience and help with my graphic inadequacies, even though he doesn't respond to thank yous! ( too many to respond to, is my first assumption)
tarasadie17 - just seems like a class act! nothing specific, bought a couple of boxes of '02 Upper Deck Piece of History from him, but every post that I have read from him is to the point , no ego, knows the hobby. We need more folks like this. Good for this Hobby!
jaderock - Well, his collection speaks for itself! We've
only had one transaction on this site but he truly understands the sickness and actually embraces it (you sick $*@c!-+). Thanks for the help getting my posts organized.

ffman - the most positive individual I've had the pleasure of reading. Never seen a post where he badmouthed, or talked-down to a collector. A peace maker. We need more of these.
dviv17 - a young, hellion LIBERAL, and an up-and-coming-hard-core collector with an intellect to scare the folks that I like to scare.
vicsten - first for kind words on a mini-rant I had and for bringing up a great subject for discussion.

Thanks Vicsten for posting this!

My shout out goes to KHarmon, Kris you were one of the first that greated me with open arms here at TCC (besides Boberino) and your kind generosity to help my collection get truly started was an inspiration to what collecting is all about. You gave me so much for so little, I can only thank the Cowboys for picking up TO, and putting that AWFUL taste in your mouth. I am sure I still have all the "freebie's" that you sent my way. Kris, I wish you were on more often, I can't wait to visit my little brother in Lubbock so we can get together for a BBQ, and Wax Break. There are so many others I want to give a Shout out to, but that will be for another day

I'm going to have a long list.

Crazygood: For helping get a Larry Bird auto for my dad.
Bushidobard: For helping me immensely with my writing and for the great transactions we've had.
Wahoo25: Just sent me a Casey Kotchman auto, that was great. Much appreciated and you have an incredible PC.
Kooljazz: Just a great guy and I always love reading/watching his breaks.
Sheesh: Brings a lot to the politics forum, and 99.9% of the time I agree with him.
RGBII: An amazing collector who probably has one of the best single set collections of all time. Love his attitude to collecting and in politics.
HOFerAutoCollector: I've traded with Tom several times and each one has been smooth. He sent me some free cards when I had to take a couple weeks off along with a nice letter. He's a true class act.
Vicsten: She always knows when to step in and take control, but always with a great attitude.
Snkpocket137: Great trader, great guy.
Tex333: Great to talk to, and an excellent guy. He got some Kendricks for me when I was out of money, thanks a bunch!
Bigalexx: Excellent trader, and great to talk to. Fellow Angels fan and he has a sweet Ervin Santana collection. He also sent me a very very nice Howie Kendrick sweet spot auto.

I've probably forgot some people, excuse me if I did.

Thanks to all at TCC.

Here's my first set of shout-outs.

Mark (marcus42) - Mark is a very easy going guy to talk to, he seems like he'd be an overall helpful person in real life and over the internet. He sent me some free cards for my ND PC including a Darius Walker auto. He's a great guy that I'm glad to be able to call my friend on here.

Tom (HOFerAutoCollector) - Tom is all for helping the younger members of the site, weather it be sending them top loaders, penny sleeves, and etc.... or even buying stuff off the bay or just stuff from his card collection and sending it to them for nothing, just to help them out. I have always had respect for him and will continue to. He also sent me some free Quinn cards for my Quinn collection a while back.

Ken (kooljazz1966) - I've never had the pleasure of having a conversation with Ken before, but what he is doing for his country is great. I have tons of respect for him and what he is doing. God bless you man!

Cody (ffman) - Cody is one of the first people that I actually had conversations with through PMs and what not. Very cool guy to talk to and joke around with. Very laid back and easily one of the most respected guys in my book.

Joe (2000 Rushing Yards) - I haven't known Joe for long, but he's a very good person to talk to and I can get along with him very easily. He's yet another good friend from this site in which I've made.

Bob (bob_TCC) -

KUDOS go out to all those who have thought of me when they come across a Bagwell or two and have PM'd me with an offer. Hint! Hint! smile.gif smile.gif

Sneaky but hopefully effective. Can't blame a girl for tryin'! tongue.gif

Posted by: marcus42 Jul 30 2007, 11:27 PM

ok I throw a few appreciations out!

Ken- It was awesome getting that Newsome from you awhile back, and I was glad to get you a Montana! What your doing for our country is something that no piece of cardboard will ever be able to show how much I, and most every other member, appreciate what you do! Keep it up man!

Steve (Aceecards)- not that you and Ken haven't gotten enough of these kudo's already laugh.gif thought I'd toss mine in as well. You two are awesome collectors, and members to the hobby, it has been a pleasure dealing with you in the past, and hopefully we can work a couple more out, it's nice to see someone speaking up about the moral's on the site, when things sometimes get out of hand.

Cory (Raidersfan4life)- Though I haven't seen alot of Cory, I've had a few deals with him, and he has been awesome to deal with, wish you all the best man!

Todd (tmburton22)- I think todd and I have had two of the fastest deals in terms of negotiating in the history of TCC (one was where I asked about two cards in a reply to a thread, he asked about a couple of mine in the next reply, I replied if it was ok to post, and took a total of maybe two minutes! laugh.gif), as with Cory it is the same with Todd, awesome to work with, hopefully we can work something out again.

Chad (DetroitFan113)- Most genuine member that I have come across on TCC, bar none. Worked a couple deals out, and have had some great talks about football. Great member, even though he doesn't collect anymore, it'd be nice to see him around more!. Also really nice too, great member.

Dan (killerhawkeye)- Sets the TCC standard. Great Collection, always has positive things to say, and is quite funny in the everything else thread. Your the man, Dan!

Matt (Iplayfootball90)- It's always great discussing football with you, Matt. Even though you don't trade anymore, it's great seeing your opinion's on whats going on in the sports world, as well as the hobby. Keep it up man! Oh, and thanks for what you said earlier, I really appreciate it!

Vickie (vicsten) and Cody (ffman)- Sorry for lumping you guys into the same compliment, but you two are awesome for this forum! always having the right thing to say without ever trying to degrade another member. And as always Vickie, thanks for gettin me my ryan freel auto wink.gif.

Tyler (Eliptic)- Thanks for being a Cleveland Browns fan! laugh.gif it has been awesome to share whats been going on with the Browns with another die hard that bleeds Brown and Orange! Big things coming for the Brownies. And your graphic design talent is second to none! Has been a terrific addition to TCC!

Bob (do I really need to put his username here smile.gif)- Bob, thanks for running such a successful site that gives me an outlet to talk about a hobby that many others do not share outside of TCC.

I think I have gotten everyone off the top of my head, I'll add more when they come to mind!

Posted by: killerhawkeye21 Jul 30 2007, 11:54 PM

Time for my list.
Steve (Ace)- We've only had one trade, but it went fast and it was a good one! Thanks for that!! smile.gif
Mark (marcus42)- Awesome guy, our trade was great! A great member and cool guy here at TCC.
Ken- (kooljazz)- Very awesome member here at TCC! You make so many awesome threads, and help out a lot here at TCC. Thanks for serving our Country!!
KJ(Crazygood)- Sent me some freebies a while back, and a really cool member, and cool to talk to!
Joe(colts21)- Yet another wicked awesome member...his posting is positive, and thats a good thing for TCC. He also helps when he can!
Bill(psupuz31)- Read what was said about Joe!^^^ Keep up the Puz collection..
Chip(Bravesfan09)-Another great member here! Congrats on reaching 10k posts! Keep 'em coming!! smile.gif
Brad(Xebulba)- A very cool member that is quite funny! Thanks for the great trade!
Jeremy(Monsta)- Sending me a free Bob Sanders card that I needed! Thanks so much!!
Ankesh(Coltsfan23)- Fun to talk to, a great trader and awesome member!
Alex(Bigalexx)- Again...another awesome member, and another cool
person to talk to!
Jim(Broncojim)- My first trade on here! Thanks so much!!
Chad(DetroitFan113)-Great trader! Thanks so much for our trades!!
BOB!!- Thanks so much for TCC and everything! You're the best!!

Sorry if I forgot anyone!

A huge shout-out to:

bravesfan09: Chip told me through a PM a while back telling me he had gotten a Sosa GU card. I responded with an 'awesome!', then he PMed me back telling me he had just sold it locally the night before.

Yesterday, my mom told me when I called her from work that I received a package in the mail.

It was from Chip. The package included the Sosa GU which he had 'sold' ( tongue.gif ), a Sosa RC, and a note. He said that was a time when a little lie wouldn't hurt, and he knew it would help my Sosa collection as a gift from 'friend-to-friend'.

Therefore, a big kudos to Chip aka bravesfan09!

I give a shout-out to anyone that wants it.

Posted by: StroBro Jul 31 2007, 03:26 PM

when i think about honorable mentions my first thoughts directly go to members like ace, and kooljazz, and a number of others who easily make themselves just as recognizable everyday on the boards. bob's kudos are a given. but no words or mention can really do him justice.

i have to give two thumbs up to vicsten for looking after her fellow stro. she gave my meek bagwell collection a huge kick in the pants and gave my meager stack some credibility all for nothing, just out of the thoughtfulness of her heart. all good things that come her way just goes to show what goes around comes around.

second thumbs up would be for a member who hasnt been around lately and i hope he is okay. Chrispounds, i met him the very first day he joined the site, i found him much like i was when i joined sitting in the chatroom all alone. so i joined him and helped him to navigate the site alittle easier. that sort of help is always readily available and would be no problem at all for 99% of all members here im sure. so it was no big deal for me to offer my help. low and behold he asked who i collect and the sport im into and after that was said he told me he would see what he could do for me. first telling him that wasnt necessary he insisted and i got a few very nice ssuuuperbb bagwells!! a month or so later all just for my time. i hope he shows up someday so we can talk again.

last mention id say would be to NGWH for letting me know this topic existed and for all the fellow stros on the site!

and i wouldnt be lookin half as studly as i do when i post without my banner and bondsaways artsy eyetastic ability and his time and also thoughtfulness. offering to send things without cost or do what he can for members in need.

final thumbs up would be for all the banner makers out there, thanks for all your contributions!

Posted by: Iplayfootball_90 Jul 31 2007, 03:49 PM

Vickie sent them to me without asking for anything in return. Vickie is one of the greats in the TCC family and I thank you very much for the cards. If I pull a Bagwell anytime soon, it's yours.

Also, kudos goes out to Doctor Wax Battle of the Backstop.com. I enjoy watching the videos of the box breaks and hope to make it to the Backstop soon.

I have more kudos to spread, but I have to remember to whom first. tongue.gif

Kudos to CyberQuad from me. We did a trade, sent him a bunch of Messier cards for his player collection. Sent him a .40 card, turns out was a parallel that I didn't notice BV60, he didn't need it and was honest enough to tell me (nice to know more folks out there like that in the world). So I found some more he needed (cover his postage that way) and he's sending it back to me smile.gif

My kudos today go out to Gohran.....great individual and one of the most patient individuals around. We have a trade still pending, and it has been a long time getting to him, hopefully he receives it soon. I was starting to think it was just me, but looked at his other pending trades, and noticed that they are all slow getting to him as well. US to MALAYSIA= SSSSLLLLOOOWWWWW. So Gohran, thanks for your patience, and I hope that all those packages include extras for you when they finally get there. biggrin.gif

Skatalite, this is one amazing guy. If you guys dont know Rich, you really should. Everyone knows the hard time I am going through with my dad in the hospital. He talks me through alot of my problems, and even offers to talk to me on the phone about it. IMO, one, if not the nicest guy's on the site, and easily an asset to TCC.

This would have been this first forum where I would have posted this, but aceecards posted a thank you to me for everyone to see, so, I decided to do the same.
None-the-less, a collector like that (aceecards) needs recognition any where they can get it. I decided to do it again here.

Kudos go out to echunks for sending me a boatload of Vikings and Oregon State players due to me mis-identifying a card (I was off by about $100 laugh.gif ). Awesome of them to point out my error and send me a bunch of cards for my PC to make up the difference. Nice to know there is other honest folks out there (though this site has lots of great people that I have found so far, only one bad apple I come across so far anyway). Very cool of them to point out my error, since some folks would have just taken the card and not said anything. smile.gif

My kudos for today goes out to Mike (Tarasadie17). He agreed to trade me a Don Mattingly 8x10 Auto from UD for some assorted A's and Giants GU and autos. Not a lot of collectors would have done that, but Mike, knowing how big a Yankee fan I am, went out of his way to make sure that this gem I recieved found it's way into my collection. Thanks so much Mike!

That sounds like a trade I had with SinatraKing. I also mis-identified a card (to a lesser extent), and he sent me quite a few nice cards to make up for it (which were valued higher than the difference caused by the error).

And my kudos for the day goes out to RGBII. He contacted me about a 2007 Allen and Ginter Sammy Sosa mini no-number he had, and we were able to make a deal for it!

As part of the box breaks for the Official FB Team Hobby Box Club - December, he was to receive this card:

2007 Topps Draft Picks and Prospects 135 Adrian Peterson RC $6.00 $15.00

I'm aware that there's a pending transaction where a member was to receive this same card and never did. So, I approached Eddie about trading for or buying the card. Eddie immediately insisted that I simply keep the card and send it to the member.

Now, we have the opportunity to show a young man that there are right and wrong ways to handle issues - even when things don't go as planned.

Thank you, Eddie! thumbsup.gif

BIG Kudos go out today to Monsta2012. About a week ago he pmed me and asked for my addy. I gave it to him, but he said it might take a couple of weeks for it to get there. Of course I was curious, but boy am I glad i waited. I have not received it yet, but today he pmed and asked if i had leonard's sp authentic patch auto. I though to myself, no freakin way. But of course, after I pmed him back and told him no, he told me to check my show and tell thread, and wow was i pumped!!

Your hard work, Dilligence, and dedication to tcc goes above and beyond. Even though we have had differences in the past, I know how hard you work here, and give you the up most respect.

Micheal is dedicated to his students, and family as well. Quite honestly you are an example of how society should be and how i wish to be as I grow older (no pun intended mango man :-) )

Again,

Much Respect Micheal, you are a great guy and an awesome TCC'er....

Why here? This thread has been gathering dust for far too long. "Newcomers" and us vets would do well to read through this entire thread. It shines the light on what makes our hobby/obsession worthwhile. Not to mention the fact that I miss Vickie's sharp wit and wisdom.

Mr. DePouw, I thank you dearly. We will toast one another one of these fine days (that, or share a Bail Bondsman).

Thanks for the looks folks, Please take some time out of your schedule(s) to read this entire thread. It is well worth your time, consideration and attention.
