QUOTE
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New Jersey Nets fired coach Lawrence Frank on Sunday after losing their first 16 games during one of the worst starts in NBA history.

Assistant Tom Barrise will coach the team Sunday night in Los Angeles against the Lakers, when the Nets could tie the record for the worst start if they lose.

The Nets say a permanent replacement for Frank has not been determined.

Frank was in his sixth full season, the longest-tenured coach in the Eastern Conference and the winningest coach in the Nets' NBA history. But none of those victories came this season, and the team dismissed him with a 225-241 record.

If you watched the "talent" on this team on a nightly basis you would. The Nets have been without 4/5ths of their starting lineup for what seems like the entire season...

Firing Frank was an inevitability... I really truly don't believe this is his fault at all. He's a very good coach and should certainly get another shot elsewhere.

i also watch the nets on a nightly basis and i have for a few seasons now it seems that the nets front office has just made bad decisons starting with the R.J trade with milwauke because i think harris has some potentail but the R.J trade was just bad Yi shouldnt even be playing in the nba and simmions is a sold bench player but R.J was an NBA all-star .

I still believe in Yi... He's at least a decent player and has been showing flashes of late... RJ had to go, however. He was wasting away here.

I believe that there are only 3 nba level starters on the nets brook lopez , devin harris , and chris douglas roberts . the nets had the option to go out and get a quality pick with number 11 in the 2009 draft they drafted t-will who was only good in college because louisvillie had a elite team . so really its the fronts office fault .
