We still have a whole draft left and hopefully we can trade back and pick up even more picks. Draft a T, LB, DT and G/CB with those 4 picks and your good for the year. Throw in next years draft and this team can contend in a few years. I know many people in the state have Harringtonitis and are skeptical of this pick but with Linehan back there as our OC and a year learning Stafford could be the next Elway. He has that good of skills. I for one cant wait for the next few years of lions football! ps. i am not sure anybody wants Jason smith. I for one dont, is lack of experience and rise up the draft boards thanks to a good combine scare me. where do u get those odds from>??? a complete guess ? OK...we will see. I grew up right by the Silverdome and have watched this team for almost 40 years. the same people that just signed him are part of the group that drafted every player the last 7 years. We have next to nothing in all of those drafts. Do I really need to go over who they felt was good? Im curious, what gives you so much confidence that they got this right with such a horrible track record. I went to MSU and Im happy they got Peterson, but he isnt a prototypical LB and Im also a fan of Sims, but he was bad last year. Every article I read said Curry is the best player, so we obviously didnt need him cuz of all the talent on this roster. Basically, I have drank the Kool Aid after every draft and new hire and I give up. I watched Stafford take a team that everyone thought was the #1 going into last year and not lead it. I watched quite a few of his games on the dish and he's a good player, but not a franchise saver like they paid him. Just my opinion. Why dont we let a few unbiased opinions in and see what they say about what the Lions should have done. I could be wrong, who knows. I do believe that the reason they took him is cuz if they passed and he turns out to be great, they would never hear the end of it. Heck, they just bought at least 3 years of job security.
