Well, I think that does it for me here, just out of luck for trades for too long now, I just don't have interest in most of the garbage coming out in today's products, the good stuff is too many years past.

Good luck to all.

I'm always amazed how anyone can give the slightest care about football at this time of year.

Expand those horizons all!

Stanley Cup is what it's all about right now !!

Well, been over a year now since my last trade deal here. Guess it's time to fold the tent and seek out fresh ground.

Sad, but high time I guess.

Good Luck to all! biggrin.gif

So, I've put the collection on the market, just to see if anyone actually collects anymore.

I know there are people chasing this stuff, since they always outbid me on the bay - so it's time they bring their $$$ to me.

Wait and see...

Been terribly long since I made a trade here.

I know there is some interest in the cards I have for trade, unless people just want to buy these days?

Ah, reminiscing about james dunn - the guy who ripped a bunch of folks here off, including myself at another site that no longer exists.

I'm ready for my cards with interest dry.gif whenever you want to come clean james... dry.gif

I love it.

I put my two cents in here and have my opinion completely ignored.

That can only mean there is no rebuttal to my well crafted words. smile.gif

The end of an era for me.

After trading and selling off the last of the cards I had on my tradelist in December, I have decided that I will no longer maintain a tradelist.

Of course I still have a few cards on hand for trading, but I've grown tired of the "Do you have anything else to trade?" that I seem to get so often.

Reasons for this:
My hockey homepage tradelist has always said right at the top: These are all the cards I have on hand to trade

Yet I still get that question...as if all the time I spent was worthless...Why can't I get "I'm looking for these cards of this player from these years in trade"?

That way I can say - "Okay here's what I've got of that player" or "I don't have anything on hand, but will be checking for something at the next local card show"

Looking back...I've never gotten that reply from anyone...and I find that strange...no one is willing to check their local card show for something they want that I have???

I can see not wanting to dig thru stuff for a list of 100 or 1000 cards that someone wants...but what of say, a list of 10 specific issues that go for a few bucks tops? I'd do that for someone even if they didn't have something for me in trade.

So when the next show comes around I'll post up a going to the show thread for hockey wants. (Yes, gonna stick to hockey, since I don't have clue on values or players for the most part in the other sports)

Maybe it will start a trend...local show mining.

Here's your chance to buy out my trade list. Because, I think that once that happens I will no longer maintain a trade list. Everything will go on a basis of you having something from my want list, then I find something you can use in trade at the shop or show.

Just seems easier than spending $$ on a random bunch of stuff at the show based on names I think will move in hopes of getting a trade.

Sad in one respect, a shot of today's hobby in another.

$1BV in base is equal to $1BV in inserts is equal to $1BV in GU is equal to $1BV in Autos is equal to $1BV in Patches

$1BV is $1BV
so why do so many people keep on thinking their game used scraps are worth more?

They certainly don't offer me more in BV when they are trying to trade for any GU or Autos I have on hand...

One thing I often find myself wondering:

Where have all the inserts and parallels gone?

I mean there were millions of these in the mid to late 90's, yet searching the trade boards yields only a handful of collectors who even admit to having them, much less seem to have a list of them marked for trade.

Oh, you can cruise the bay and find people trying to sell them as singles for $1 plus $3.50 shipping, but really, who's paying that for them - no one.

I don't mind paying $1 for an insert if it's something I lack for my PC, and often do so at shows or shops, but that's rather the top end of it, except in rare cases of wanting a specific one to finish a parallel set or the like.

Seriously, I have stuff on my want list for years on end that high books at $4...$4 really!?!

So I ask - where are they?

Give me a big box of mid to late 90's inserts and parallels to sift thru anytime smile.gif

So this is kind of funny...

I have a stack of about $100 of cards for trade, (not that I really keep track all that much, but I was curious so booked them out after the fact), and offer them to a guy in trade for some #'d and new press RC's...guy looks thru the stack and takes the least valued card in trade...weird. Passes on other stuff that books $15 for something that comes in at $1.

Works for me.

What's with people not using the Trade: Sell: or Want: title starters??

It would make things so much easier to have a Want sub-forum to keep that sorted out.

I've made the suggestion..but no support...that just seems bizarre... blink.gif

Well, the Rage are out of the playoffs after dropping 2 games in their series. First playoff appearance not nearly long enough... sad.gif

So no Avs, no Rage...maybe the Eagles can pull out a Cup victory...

And DU lost their spot, at least Air Force is in the mix, hoping they pull out a few more victories wink.gif

Well, looks like my trading time left this season is going to be short, since there will not be much impetus to collect with the Avs out of the playoff race, and doubtfully much interest in the mostly Avs stuff I have for trade to boot... sad.gif

With that said, check out my tradelist posthaste, and go Bruins! laugh.gif

Going back to the heydey for collecting right now. Looking for inserts and parallels from 1995-2001 Avalanche. I've had enough of this boring new stuff for the time being. laugh.gif

So I have a fondness for cards picturing Avs players with the Stanley Cup. Maybe make a collage out of those...

Well I guess I can say this about the year so far...it sure has gotten easy to find stuff at a reasonable price. Cards I've looked for too long are appearing for sale, and I've gotten to add quite a few nice issues I hadn't thought about.

And as a bonus to sellers, if I grab some stuff at a sweet price I'm more likely to look over the other stuff mouldering on your shelves and offer something for it.

So don't forget to dust off those boxes of 95-01 inserts you've got in the back room and bring them to the show. (Like you always promise to bring to the next show, but for some reason with all your GU focus keep forgetting to bring) wink.gif

So I took a break for a couple weeks from the site...in some ways I'm sad I came back.

I look at my last trade here and see that it was close to a year ago. That tells me something is wrong. Is it with this site, or is there a growing issue with the whole hobby?

Maybe the overall economic news has gotten people down. I see lots of fighting over words here in the last week (and I'm not just talking in the politics forum, where things get heated with little surprise and not much of a problem usually).

Maybe I just didn't notice it before and it's always been here, but it's got me wondering why a lot of you are here. I come here to trade cards, when that's not happening I can only think too many of you have lost focus on the fun.
