McFarlane Toys is headed to the Big Apple this summer for baseball's All-Star Game. It's the final season for Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, and we're bringing a pair of exclusives featuring two of the most cherished Yankee Captains of all time.
"A Humble Man of Grace and Dignity. A Captain Who Led by Example. Proud of the Pinstripes Tradition and Dedicated to the Pursuit of Excellence. A Yankee Forever."
- Don Mattingly's plaque in Yankee Stadium's Monument Park
Don Mattingly was the face of the New York Yankees from 1984 to 1995 - busting on the scene as a slick-fielding first baseman with a vicious left-handed cut. He made the American League All-Star team in his first full season (the start of six consecutive nominations) and earned the A.L. batting title that same year with a .343 average. Mattingly's encore was his best season as a pro - winning the A.L. MVP award with a .324 batting average, 35 homers and 145 RBI. In 1991, "Donnie Baseball" was named the tenth captain in New York Yankees history.

"God, I hope I wear this jersey forever."
- Derek Jeter, New York Yankees Captain
The Yankees emerged from a 14-year playoff drought in 1995, winning the first-ever A.L. Wild Card in a season that saw the major league debut of shortstop Derek Jeter. He took over as New York's starting shortstop in 1996 (homering on Opening Day and winning the A.L. Rookie of the Year award) and has led the Yankees to the postseason every year of his career. Jeter's Yankee teams have amassed four World Series Championships, six A.L. Pennants, ten A.L. East Division titles, and three Wild Cards.
During his 12-year career, Jeter has made eight All-Star teams, while earning the World Series MVP award in 2000. In 2003, he was named the captain of the Yankees, an honor he still carries today.

Both figures will be produced in limited runs (6,000 for Jeter and 4,000 for Mattingly) and sold at the DHL All-Star FanFest, to be held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center from July 11-15.
