Well, this is just my opinion, but unless you are a huge fan of any given Premium Pack license, they probably aren't for you. These are definitely not "Rip & Flip" products. If you don't think you'd be thrilled with the pulls, just don't open the box. And I don't mean you personally, jam. I'm just speaking in general.

At $50 per pack, you're already saving a few bucks over a 24/36 count box. You still get an autograph - which is almost never a mega-star anyways. I don't think you can go wrong with three relics either. This Plane piece is on par with a case topper.

Premium packs basically kill the $3-4 pack market. A market which I believe is necessary to get kids involved in the hobby. I do, however, love the fact that we are seeing sets released in this format that can not sustain a full release.
Compared to the sports card world, you can have a companies producing "low end" releases with 1 hit (jersey) per box, then you can have "high end" releases like Five Star.
I don't believe these packs will kill the hobby. If anything, they serve a different market. As long as companies realize the necessity to produce "kid friendly retail" this hobby will continue.

Rittenhouse is releasing this in the Premium Pack format. It's essentially like buying a box for the hits only and not having a massive quantity of base cards left over from multiple boxes. A Premium Box is more or less a usual case.

One Premium Pack has an SRP of $50 and yields 3 relics and 1 autograph.

Rittenhouse is also using this Premium Pack format for their Spartacus release. Breygent is also changing their packaging for upcoming sets. Nothing set in stone yet, but it has been said to be similar to a Factory Set w/ Premium Inserts.

This format is geared towards very short-print releases that can not turn a profit on large runs. They are certainly not impulse buys at your local store.
