QUOTE(IowaCubs1 @ Sep 27 2011, 02:57 PM) I have a Michael Jordan Fleer 86-87 RC that I personally pulled out of a pack years ago and it is in fantastic shape. I was wondering what your thoughts were on sending it to PSA to be graded???? Is it worth it?? I don't want to send my card and then have it damaged in the mail or have it lost?!? HELP!!! What do I do? In my opinion certain cards should ALL be graded. The 52T Mantle, the 79OPC Gretzky, and the 86F Jordan are three examples. With all the reprints out there you want to be able to show proof of the authenticity (even if you already know it's real having pulled it). If you're looking to sell it's a must to have it graded. If you're looking to keep it as a display piece you should still have it graded for protection against any future damage. The folks at PSA and BGS are professionals who will take care of it...just make sure it's protected well when you send it (or maybe bring it in person to a show where they are taking submissions if you are uncomfortable mailing it). By slabbing it, it gives you the opportunity to show it off and allow others to handle it while knowing it's still well protected. Sure beats having it sit in a safety deposit box never to be seen or enjoyed.

The form in my Beckett says nothing about having a membership, I had three cards done back in may, and have two already there being graded, if we started a BSG Submission group here, and collect 100 cards or more, it would cost $7 a card, and the members can split the cost of shipping and insurence, just need someone to handle it, but yes, have it graded!

Beckett doesn't require a membership to get cards graded. They come to the LCS here in San Antonio about every two months and grade on site. They will do a raw card review and you can keep it like that in a pro card holder or you can send it off to get slabbed and they will get it back to you in a timely fashion. They normally have a tiered system of how quickly you need them back. Normally one card is about $10 and the more you get graded the cheaper they.
Hope this helps. Thanks, Matt

QUOTE(IowaCubs1 @ Sep 29 2011, 01:48 PM) How long does something like this take to get graded by BGS? I'm doing the 2 day shipping and it said total of 54 dollars or something. Wow, one card right? I'm in a group right now and my first submission of three cards came out to be $31, the one Im in now I have two cards, $1 more for a Auto, but they came out to be $26 out the door, be back about Oct. 24-25, not bad. I say this again, lets start a BGS Submissions group, it will kind of work out like the box breaks here, Where the Mods will handle it, maybe I should start this in another Thread, so maybe you should hold off on sending that card in for $54 or something, and see if we can get someone to start a Submissions group! ANYONE LIKE THIS THOUGHT? I would totally join in to save some cash and have more of my Wings cards Graded, did I say I got 9.0 Mint on my last three, lol!
