Yeah, I needed to get a new one. I got a great price and was told I have a 30-day full return on it.

I went to the range that afternoon and decided I was keeping it then!!

Next up, I need new irons...thinking about Nike slingshot but haven't decided yet. ermm.gif

hahaha,
that always works, i never buy new balls,
but knock offs..thats how i use to roll,
i dont think irons are all that different i had to use
my dad's knock offs once and hit the same as what i would with my clubs

i just think name brand drivers are a huge differnce between the non name brand ones.

Yeah they are awesome. I got a heckuva deal on them at the beginning of this summer. My next big purchase is either a 3 or 4 wood or a new putter. We will see! I have a trip planned to Myrtle Beach in 3 weeks. So Im psyched about that.

Posted by: 10alex10 Jul 14 2008, 02:16 AM

justs took out my vokey spin milled wedge and
added an oil can vokey design,
and i love it, crazy soft when you hit it.

i snapped my driver shaft
at a tournament.. sad.gif i have to find a new one now.

Posted by: NorCal Sports Aug 3 2008, 12:06 AM

Driver: Titleist----had the 975D since High School, just switched last week and picked up 35+ yards! Those thin faces are amazing.

Irons: Taylor Made LCG. Can't find a set I hit longer so I stick with these.

Wedges: Cleveland 588
Putter: Rosie 2 (12 years and still white hot!)
5 Wood: Taylor Made SuperSteel, This baby goes 215 and high everytime
3 Wood: Titliest PT----low trajectory, but deep.

Its funny, I practiced everyday when I was in High School/College and never got below a 4 hadi. Now I play 3-5 a month, and with the new technology, I play as well or better now.

Precept Lady Balls are what I use, people give me grief about the breast cancer logo....but I can't find a ball that goes higher and farther for my swing. The "new" balls and new drivers had made the game so much easier.

Good luck on the course fellas.

sweet! ah, I love when people post in here..
we just need some more golfers on TCC smile.gif

thanks for sharing!, as for the ladys balls..
hey man what ever works.. ladys balls= more compression
more compression= further ball....depending on the swing speed and all,

im quite young so i cant complain about how the
new technology is alot eiaser to play with because
ive always played with the new technology..

im about where you are handicap wise aswell,
a 4-5 handi.. im a sophmore in highschool..so i guess
thats not bad, but i do play a lot and im not so satisfied
with that this summer but ill live,

Posted by: NorCal Sports Aug 3 2008, 01:29 AM

Awesome, good luck this coming season in High School, I had so much fun playing-it was the highlight of my younger days. My only tip would be to work out if you don't already. I picked up 20 yards on my irons since "trying" to work out about 3 days a week.

Try and find a Titleist Balata, or Tour Professional and switch to an old driver, and you'll see a huge difference in how you score. Like I said, I just switched from a 975D and I NEVER hit it 300, usually 250 at most in High School. Last time I played it was really hot and dry and I got 2 over 300, its crazy. You can toe it and hit it 250 now, which didn't happen unless you had 95+ MPH swing.

Oh, and try and Caddie for a pro golfer if you haven't already. I hooked up with a guy on the Canadian Tour/Nationwide Tour: Stephen Gangluff (They need volunteers at each tour stop, and you get paid) I've done 3-5 events the past 6 years and have learned so much about the game and how to score.

Posted by: 10alex10 Aug 3 2008, 01:34 AM

That would be a blast being a caddie for someone with so much talent,
i would love to learn from someone like that..

and as far as working out,
5 times a week. 2 times a day, wink.gif
keeps the muscles stretched. and
of course gets your stronger smile.gif

Posted by: NorCal Sports Aug 3 2008, 02:01 AM

Check out Cantour.com and see if they ever come to your neck of the woods. I would highly recommend that if you have time, give it a shot at some point.

Keep doing what your doing, sub 5 in high school might get you a free education. College golf is super fun too, but more competitive.

My dad just scooped the new Ping Driver, I love how the top-line looks on that club, looks like a blade iron. Anyway-Good luck, Post some golf stuff and I'll chime in. Talk to you soon.

Posted by: srsly_chris Aug 3 2008, 11:19 AM

is my driver decent?

cleveland Launcher 400

was given to me for free, and I tend to drive the ball very Far.

Posted by: Cades Aug 4 2008, 09:32 AM

Just upgraded this year from King Cobra's to Ping G10's, Driver, woods and irons, putter is Odyssey, can't member which one though

Posted by: NorCal Sports Aug 4 2008, 11:56 AM

A Cleve. Launcher is a very nice driver...I think Vijay Singh used it along with other tour pros when it was Clevelands newest model a few years back. I've seen some Cleveland pros with it still in the bag. I know the fairway woods play really well too.

The old 588 Cleveland wedges are still some of the best wedges you can buy for under $75

sqaure driver!
never tryed one..
whats the difference between a sqaure and rounded head?

Posted by: fourkkids Aug 6 2008, 10:55 AM

idk, but I love it,.,.,.

Posted by: NorCal Sports Aug 6 2008, 02:05 PM

The "Square" version is just that...a more Square Club Head...I think most companies experimented with this a year or so ago. The rounded version is more "Traditional' in shape...like a Pear....I think both give you about the same MOI so its really just looks and what you like better.

That's partially correct. The square head impacts the ability to draw or fade the ball. Essentially, it is designed so that mishits don't slice or hook, it is made to hit the ball straight.

I play:
Titleist 907 D2 driver
Titleist 3 wood
Cobra DWS Pro Hybrid
Titleist 735.cm progressive irons
Titleist Vokey Wedges
Ping Anser putter

yupp, ill be playing varsity.. unless some crazy
reason i stay down... which probably will be unlikley,

but we wont see eachother at all if you make jv..
varsity skips alot more days of school for tournements.
hopfully we can make it to regionals, maybe state.
