I saw several games and was very disappointed not only with the officiating but with the players as well. The referees pulled out too many yellow and red cards, but worse than that players were faking injuries on close ones as well. Not all of them but enough that they should install a diving rule like they have in hockey. It was a shame what good players were taken out because of red cards.

they have a "delibrate dive" rule. The problem is it gets called as much as diving does in hockey laugh.gif

This happens at almost every World Cup....unfortunately it's a big problem for FIFA....they want to try to ensure that there are referees from all parts of the world. The problem with that, is that some of these referees have never had the consistent big-game experience that European referees do....and they end up making poor decisions.

Having said that, there have really been some awful decisions made during this World Cup.
