My brother, my dad, and I always get my mother a special gift for mothers day. I believe we got her some cooking stuff this year because she loves to cook just for the fun of it. I know it may not seem like much, but you'd be amazed at how much she'll like them.

I didn't realize til a couple of days ago that it was this weekend.

I thought it was next weekend. I'm going to get a card and maybe some flowers tomorrow and see if I can find something to fix for Sunday dinner. I wish I had thought of something sooner. It just doesn't seem like enough for 30 years of motherhood. Oh, well, I know she doesn't like to be made a big deal of. I'm sure she'll like whatever I come up w/.

Spend time with your loved ones as often as you can, not just on "holidays". I dropped off some flowers and a card today for my mother.

Some of you have heard this before, but Mother's Day is both a happy and sad occasion for me.

I loved Mother's day and enjoyed getting stuff for Mom, but that all ended 12 years ago. On Mother's Day 1995, my mom was rushed to the hospital where it was diagnosed that she had advance stages of lung cancer. In less than 4 months she passed away, again on a "special" day for me - my wife's birthday.
