Tonight on ESPN their featured story was about boys playing on girls high school sports teams. Two different boys (one on a girls volleyball team/one on girls field hockey team).
Girls are allowed under title 19?? able to play sports with boys shouldn't boys be able to play on girls teams? If their are teams for both then I don't see the problem, but if there is only a girls volleyball team why can't a boy play?
Unless of course 30 boys try out for the team, which would make it an all boys team. Then I think at least 2/3 of team should be orientated to the sex of the team.
Does anyone else have an opinion on this?

I'm not sure I like the idea of boys playing on girls sports teams....don't know why...it just doesn't sit right with me. I feel the same way about girls playing football and baseball on boys teams....but I know that my opinion is not a popular one amongst most people. I know there are some schools in this area that are so small that they couldn't field a six man football team without a couple of girls playing on the team...and as long as they're athletes I understand the need for them to field the team. High School Football in Texas is almost a religion, especially in this part of the state where there's nothing else to look forward to in the fall except the cotton harvest.

For those of you who have never seen a six man football game....it is wild. Six players on offense, six on defense and every person on offense is an eligible receiver. There was one game a couple of weeks ago that ended with a final score of 76 to 75.......I think the defense on both teams was taking water breaks while the other team had the ball. I would have loved to have seen that game...that many points scored would have been really something to see. There is also a mercy rule in six man football where if a team is down by 45 points at the half the game is called. Meadow High School....about 40 miles from here had a team down 77 to 0 at the half a couple of weeks back...and Meadow is one of the six man teams that had a girl on the field due to an injury to two Meadow players....they had 7 players dressed out for the game.....five of the six on offense were playing both ways with the 7th person that was dressed out being their quarterback who they didn't play on defense for fear of him getting hurt.

I don't think there should be any mixed sex sports that have any contact involved with them. I do however believe if girls have the right to play boys sports it should follow same guidelines for boys. My daughter is 13 and last year was a wrestler and she won most of her matches againest boys. I try to install in my daughters they can do whatever they want to be! Now she is older I'd rather she did not particapate in contact sports with boys, but I'll never tell them they can do it!

Look if some girls want to try to qualify for the British Open go ahead but it does give men the right to qualify on their tour too... (wimps)

We used to play intra-mural mixed sex sports in college.

Tackle Football was a blast, especially with girls/women...

I say "Let Them Play"!!
