How it Works (Official Rules)
Hey guys we're back this month with a different format. I'm going to change the break format up to a Bi-Monthly break in order to keep it filled. Last month we were delayed by the late release of one of our products and by not enough interest in the break.
Each member pays $50 ($52 if paying via PayPal) but stretching it over 2 months makes it $26/month. That covers about $500 in boxes, shipping, and supplies. You get one team (you cannot take a team that has already been taken) of your choice. The remaining 20 teams go to the members via a draft. This gives you a total of three teams. Every single card pulled out of a box that has a player from one of your three teams goes to you. The box breaks are done via a video break, so there is no question as to what was pulled.
Fees are due by the last day of the first month. This way we will have a month to order/break the boxes and get everything shipped out. The boxes are ordered and the draft begins as soon as all fees are collected. As soon as the draft completes and the boxes are in, the video breaks are done. The cards are then shipped out by the box breaker as soon as the results have been posted. We decide as a group what boxes to break each month.

I'm back for the next round. I like the look of Upper Deck products way more than Panini, but the following should be release in time to break this go around:
- Panini Elite (already out) - Panini Threads - Panini Limited
I'd rather go with Threads or Limited of Elite.

Here are some options I came up with:
Box Option 1 2 - Threads = $170 3 - Limited = $255 1 - Elite = $87
Box Option 2 (would require extra funds) 2006/07 or 2007/08 Upper Deck Exquisite Basketball Hobby Box - $600
Box Option 3 1 - Elite - $87 1 - Threads - $85 1 - Limited - $85 1 - Chronology - $170 1 - Signature - $78
Box Option 4 1 - Limited - $85 1 - Chronology = $170 1 - SP Game Used = $183 2 - SP Signature Edition = $68
Personally, I don't like option 1 or 3, but I figure some might. I don't enjoy watching 20+ packs being opened to end up with three jersey pieces and a weak auto. For that reason I'd rather not do Threads or Elite in this group break. Plus it's a lot of work for Matt and I know it inches up the shipping and handling costs. I prefer products more like Limited, Chronology, Black, Exquisite etc... for group breaks.
From what I saw Black and Premier are both too expensive right now to be worth the cost, so I didn't put those in any of the selections. My vote would be for option 4 or 2 (which would require more than the usual $52).
Most of the groupings I listed come in between $500-$510. Matt, I'm willing to pay a little extra to help cover some of the extra cost there.
Notes: - Limited is due out 01/06, so it might not be out in time for this month's break. - Right now I can only get find the pre-order price for Limited and Threads, so the exact numbers might change there. - I did not shop around for the best prices.

Mike, thanks for taking the time to look up a few box break selections. I've been meaning to get around to it but haven't really had the time. I at least want to do one box of Elite but am not really a big fan of threads. I'm all for Limited when it comes out. I think that we should still stick with Topps Signature until it dissapoints us. Our worst A auto from that product was a Brandon Roy auto. I would love to do Exquisite but I think that money is tight for everybody right now and that may be a product that we can re-visit later on. I like Sp Game Used but the multi hits are a pain in the rear. Sp signature is the same way and the quality is just not there. I'd be willing to take out the $170 from Threads and sub it for the Chronology. Does anybody know how much longer the redemptions from Chronology are still live for? Please lmk. Thanks, Matt QUOTE(Mike Lindegarde @ Dec 9 2009, 07:46 AM) Here are some options I came up with: Box Option 1 2 - Threads = $170 3 - Limited = $255 1 - Elite = $87 Box Option 2 (would require extra funds) 2006/07 or 2007/08 Upper Deck Exquisite Basketball Hobby Box - $600 Box Option 3 1 - Elite - $87 1 - Threads - $85 1 - Limited - $85 1 - Chronology - $170 1 - Signature - $78 Box Option 4 1 - Limited - $85 1 - Chronology = $170 1 - SP Game Used = $183 2 - SP Signature Edition = $68 Personally, I don't like option 1 or 3, but I figure some might. Sounds good Matt. I just wanted to get the ball rolling. I tried to cover all possibilities: the high end break, the all new product break, the all brand break, etc... As much as you don't want Threads, I don't want Elite. I just don't see the draw to that product. Threads office a huge variety of potential hits. Here are the sell sheets: ThreadsEliteThreads has the letterman (one per box), ABA autographs, the die cut team threads autographs (on card), and one more hit per box than Elite. What about this: - 1 Elite = $87 - 1 Threads = $85-ish - 1 Limited = $90-ish - 1 Chronoology = $170 (if redemptions are still valid) - 1 Topps Signature = $78
