Wow....it's Thursday night! I'm sitting in front of my computer, typing this entry, while my journals and texts are staring whimsically at me from the other side of my desk. Really have to get some work done, but self-discipline is nonexistent at the moment
My Bibby collection has ground to almost a halt in the past month. I've got a few refractors coming in from this year's Topps Finest, but other than that, it's been a case of being outbidded at the very last moment....missed two 1/1s in the past weeks. Oh well, I've got 2 boxes of Finest coming in sometime next week....really hoping for some good cards or at least some trade bait.
Have also been thinking of which player to start collecting next. I've got most of the Bibby that I want....except for the ultra-expensive 1/1s like his Ultimate Collection Logoman patch auto. Leaning a little towards Francisco Garcia because from the little I've seen of him last season, he looks like a pretty decent prospect. Good all-round player with some instinctive defensive skills. Plus, his cards are pretty affordable at the moment.
Oh yeah....the football (or soccer to you guys in the US) season is just around the corner! Can't wait for it to start! I'm seriously hoping that Liverpool will finally be able to mount a strong challenge for the English Premier League trophy this year. Been a die-hard Liverpool fan since 1983 and the past 15 years have been pretty barren in terms of silverware....except for that amazing Champion's League triumph against AC Milan 2 years ago! What a comeback! 3-0 down against the mighty Italians at halftime, we drew level in what has been described as "6 minutes of madness" in the second half and eventually won on penalties! If any of you in the US are wondering what the fuss is all about and if you wanna have a glimpse of sporting history, try and get a copy of this match. It's easily available on DVD. Trust me....it was a roller coaster of emotions and thinking about it now still gives me goosebumps. Liverpool forever!!! You'll Never Walk Alone!!!
