Ok everyone here we go....

I am going to give the multi-sport break the ole college try! As you know Chris (crpalmi) has done an amazing job hosting this break for the past few years, and in no way can I completely fill his shoes, but will give it my best. As before everything stays the same. Here are the rules

You give $75 for your initial slot which will consist of 1 chosen team and 2 drafted teams. Once everyone has picked their chosen team and all payments have been made we will start the draft. I will go onto random.com, enter everyone's name, and then click the "radomize" button 3 times. Whatever order comes up next will be the order in which we draft in. We will start with number 1 and go to number 40 on the draft then back to number 1 (randomized slot number 40 will have the 40th and 41st pick). You can only have 2 of your 3 teams per "slot" be in the same sport. After the draft is complete we will take a day or so to "auction" off the remaining teams in the break. All of that is the same as Chris had it....here is the only real difference. The break will be held on blogtv.com. I will post the address on the day of the break and we can all come into the site and I will break the boxes live on there. You will get every card that is pulled of your teams.

I will put the list up of people that were in the last break with the teams they owned. You will be able to keep your initial chosen team.

I am putting the thread up VERY early just to make sure we are going to get enough participation. My plan is to have the break on November 6th so we should have everyone paid so we can start the draft on October 30th.


Cost: $75 per slot (each slot consists of one chosen and 2 drafted teams)
Payment Date: October 30th
Break Date: November 6th 7pm central

As an additional query, will the policy on multi-player cards stay the same, or does the fact that the break will be live rather than taped allow for real-time randomization?

My thoughts were that it would stay the same. If one person "owns" the majority of the teams on the card then that person gets the card or if the ownership is equal then the card will go to the team represented on the top (if the players are vertical on the card) or on the left (if the players are horizontal).

Quick question...I am very often not available for the live break. Will the fact that you are doing it on BlogTV mean if you aren't here for the live break, you can't actually see the breaking of the boxes? I haven't spent much time on BlogTV, so I don't know if you have the ability to record the break for those that can't see it live. I know UStreamTV does it live and gives the ability to record the videos for later viewing...just curious about BlogTV.

Got the list updated now! Sorry I forgot to take the Rams off of there. Here is hoping for some sweet Bradford action for ya! He seems to be the real deal in St Louis right now!!

As for the multi-player cards I am up for what everyone else wants. I am perfectly fine with using random.com to distribute the multi-player hits. This is not MY break this is OUR break.......by the people, of the people, and for the people, or something cheesy like that!! LOL So I am good with what everyone else is good with. Let's vote on this.

I just chose BlogTV because I knew it was an a way to watch it live instead of recorded, but yes I agree it would be nice to be able to go back and watch the saved video so I will just set up a UStreamTV account and we can do it on there!

Ok everyone let's vote on how we want to handle the multi-player cards. The way they have been handled is if someone owns the majority of the teams represented on the card then they get that card. (if the card had Ryan Braun, Joey Votto, and Albert Pujols on it and Cardman owned the Brewers and Reds and I owned the Cardinals then Cardman would get the card because he owned the majority of the teams represented). This is not for vote. This seems to be a fair rule so we will maintain this rule.

This is the rule we will vote on. Previously if the ownership is equal on the card then we would go with whoever owned the team represented on the top (if it's a vertical card) or on the left side (if it's a horizontal card). Our other option is to randomize the card on random.com. The way that will work is I will take the owners of the teams represented on the card, insert them into random.com, then click the "radomize" button 3 times. Whoever's name is on the top will get the card.

Those are our options. Let's vote on this issue. I will count the votes on the 29th and whatever we decide then will be the rule while I am hosting this break.

I'm going to regret this later but finances call for me to drop a team so the Cavs are now available!

By the way I vote to keep the multi-player cards the same format but will certainly be fine with what the group decides.
