Collector Zone _ Steals _ Beanschat hits Craigslist again

Maybe the cost of a nice box of new cards, I came home with somewhere around 15,000 cards, mostly of basketball and football. Saw a nice 71 or 72 Bubba Smith, plenty of Jordan base and inserts...3 factory sets of 1992 Donruss baseball....and about 1/2 a box of supplies like plastic cases and sleeves...a few GU, a few autos...and a 8x10 auto of Derrick Coleman...
shall we really dig in and see what we can find?

alright...this lot had about 15 albums, so we will start off with those...
Alonzo Mourning electric court parallel, $2 BV not much else of note in that one...a bunch of minor RCs of basketball in the mid 90s...maybe .25 each
Next book didn't have much either..let's get something better

My brain is on overload...I just found a box of player cases for basketball..didn't look at much, but the second case I found was of Kobe...was hoping for some inserts maybe..instead there was a 96-97 Ultra RC BV $15...I am finding very few crappy cards...

Steve...this is crazy...I think I am up to 100 Barry Sanders cards that I have found....I did find more Jordan inserts...I found like 20 pages of Sports Illustrated uncut cards (I have found those are decent sellers)....I didn't really even go very deep into the "good insert" box that were separated out so far...I know there are cards # to 100 in there yet....
I will have a TON to ship to COMC, so if anyone is wanting to offer anything on them...please act quickly. I almost had a box ready to go, so I am sure I will be shipping by this coming Saturday...

It pains me to say..but I have no idea what I am really looking at right now...a mixed box mostly of basketball, alot of Pro Set..grabbing Bird and Magics out of there, 14 77-78 basketball cards...some Crystal Tradition Fleer, lots of Wild card..maybe 20-30 vintage baseball cards from 68-81,
probably about 100 cards that could sell in a .25 box...

some finds this morning before work...
several RCs of people like Jason Williams, rasheed Wallace, Artest, etc..
about 20 vintage baseball cards from 1970-1972, some in surprisingly good shape including a 1970 Kelloggs of Dick Allen
about 100 cards for my .25 cards stock
The hockey from last night were
Bobby Rousseau #65 (some paper loss I didn't see earlier on the front)
Darcotte #221 (some creasing)
Lou Angotti #63 (some creasing)
I now have a 25 cent folder that hasover 200 basketball cards in it...alll with cards anywhere from .75 BV to $2 each..mostly inserts, RCs, a few parallels... if anyone is interested in buying in bulk, please let me know. I think I could probably do 100 for $15 dlvd.

alright...so last night i started in on a shoe box of cards...and finished it tonight...a handfull of cards to consider later on whether they will qualify for .25 cards...several minor RCs and some Nash, etc base...nothing much to report there...
grabbed another shoebox...first things I see here are Tombstone Pizza pogs including a Barry Sanders, Favre, Marino, etc...some hard card holders and several soft sleeves...this might prove more interesting..

oh yeah..a collector's choice gold signature card was a nice find as well..

Have a little time this morning to go through some more cards...gonna start with some nicer ones again...
I had been working on a box of cards to go to COMC, I think I have added around 250 from this lot to that and that box is getting shipped today.
Another nice benefit of this...my youngest has started to show an interest in cards and has added a few of these to his collection that he thought were pretty cool...

Lots of star cards...marino, Sanders, Rice Hakeem, etc but nothing huge.

It ended up being pretty decent..mostly $2-3 BV inserts and parallels...

trying to clear stuff off the tables before I get more out....
Usually I have to go through them a few times to weed all the good cards...tonight for example, I found one of the vintage football cards was a little nicer than I though...unmarked checklist from 1969 with BV $20. Probably one of the vintage cards in the best shape that I have found.

alright..last post for the night...
The reason it takes me 3 times through to get a good handle on everything is parallels that I don't know about...
95-96 Metal is giving me fits tonight...I found about 20 Rookie Roll Call cards only because I turned one over for a card # and saw it started with an R. now..I have two Alonzo Mournings pulled just to go into the player case...have gone through hundreds of these cards...but now I notice some of them have gold lettering and I see a parallel called Silver Spotlight, but I am guessing those are going to be the gold ones...if anyone can give me an idea of whether I am right, i would appreciate it. How many of these have I missed? Seems they have about a 10X multiplier....
This from a shoebox in which I have found about half the cards are superstars or parallels again...
Don't get me wrong though...not complaining...except for those WNBA cards???

tonight I thought I would work on some oversized items...
start with 98-99 Skybox mini posters..47 of them including 5 David Robinsons, 4 Gary paytons, 2 Kobes and many more...saw some sell on the bay for $4 each

Thought this was over, didn't ya? No...I am still working this lot pretty hard about every night. Mostly pulling low end RCs and inserts, BV $1-4 for the most part, still plenty of cards to go to the website...I think I am closing in on another 350 cards on top of the 250 I already set...and those are all pretty much cards at BV $2 or higher, I don't want to list much for under .75.
I still find some occasional good cards...tonight I found a Topps Pan for Gold Pippen BV $10.
I have gotten lots of the 98-99 and 99-00 RCs...

What an insane lot. I wonder when checkoutmycards first started how they could exactly distinguish all of their cards from older sets (or all of the sets that are out there) Like that card that you said might be 10 times book value? Wouldnt the people at checkoutmycards easily miss that too? Do the people sorting these have some sort of system when you send them a huge number of cards?

They do make mistakes, i have found them in my lots and other peoples. But they do do a very good job. I believe they have access to Beckett's database as well so they should have a pretty good checklist of cards to choose from and compare against...

hmmm..going through one of the last stacks on inserts and noticed this one quite by accident, only because it was upside down laying on the table and I noticed the #ing on it...
