QUOTE(aceecards @ Apr 22 2020, 11:32 AM)
and an update

Its still all gone! but...

Ive been cleaning the basement on weekends with little or nothing else to do and..

in the safe I found a little old Vault box that I was sure was empty...I had to actually locate the key to open it. Its fireproof so it was heavy empty or not..
Well it wasnt empty at all... ohmy.gif

and while sorting thru memory tubs (that is what we refer to them as) I found a tub within a tub.. and in it.. A treasure trove of schtuff well too me anyway.

One of the highlights was a Mantle auto I got in person in the late 1970's at a show in St louis. I had long forgotten about a lot of this stuff but was tickled pink to actually have some things to admire and maybe have a future show and tell..

blink.gif ohmy.gif WOW!!! I didn't know you sold the collection BUT I'm definitely looking forward to this show and tell............can't wait!!

I really enjoyed the format this year for the NFL Draft and enjoyed the way the families were a part of the experience. A few of the picks were curious..........i.e. - Love to Green Bay or Jalen Hurts to Eagles.

However; I'm excited to watch Lamb with the Cowboys

I can't wait until the new NFL product comes out so I can see all the players in their NFL uniforms.

The stay-at-home order, here in Tennessee, has thrust me back into the hobby.

I kinda drifted away from the hobby when my wife and I returned to college to obtain our teaching degrees. Even though it has been delayed until after the virus, I will "officially" graduate from Cumberland University on May 2, 2020.

I've been a long member of this forum but haven't been active for awhile.

I collect Jim Thome cards, football cards, and rookie cards.

Bought this card from a Facebook friend in one of the sports cards groups.

I don't know what to think about holding a GLASS autographed football card.....kind of partial to the whole cardboard experience but I've never seen anything like this before so took a chance and purchased it for $2 shipped.

It is a 2015 Leaf product (Trinity) and I'm assuming that it is an special insert.

Does anybody know anything about this product?? How much does it book for?

Free Agents........

Eric Decker (Broncos) has been to the fence a few times and I have gotten a few items signed which has been cool. One of the days I asked if his wife (Jesse James Decker wub.gif)would be willing to sign something and he was surprised that I knew who she was.......which he liked and said he would ask her the next time she came to camp.

Here is a link if you don't know her cause you are either a monk or living under a rock: Turn the lights down low

Eric Weems (Falcons) hasn't really signed a whole lot but then again he is trying to win a spot on this team as the go to receiver so I understand.....would like to get is signature though

Logan Ryan (Patriots) was actually my first auto this year at camp and he was really nice to all the fans......one guy asked to see his Super Bowl ring and he said he hadn't gotten it yet from the team. He said Marcus reminds him alot of Brady

Demontre Hurst (Bears) The only other Sooner on the team this year and I haven't been able to get his signature. I think he signed the one day I couldn't go because of work.

Johnathan Cyprien (Jaguars) has signed a few times and has been really nice just hope he can help our backfield that just got spanked last year.......especially when we played the Jaguars pinch.gif

Brynden Trawick (Raiders) has only signed once and I missed him

Daren Bates (Raiders) has signed a few times and I got a couple of things signed by him. The funniest thing happened when a kid asked him to sign an Alabama poster with Henry's auto and he laughed but did it......he went to Auburn.

Tim Leito (Saints) has been a great signer and really friendly but then again ALL the linemen have signed almost every day and signed multiple items. I think it is cool cause they aren't the players that people stampeded to when they sign but the running backs and quarterbacks wouldn't be stars without them leading the way.

Sylvester Williams (Broncos) has been great as well at signing but I felt bad when one jerk fan asked if he would go get Eric Decker to sign an item since they played together. He just smiled and politely said who? laugh.gif laugh.gif

This year's players:

The QB's........

Marcus Mariota has only signed twice and both times I missed him. The first time he signed for TWO hours and signed over 300 autographs but I didn't feel good (upset tummy sick.gif ) so I decided to just get what I could and try again later. However; the second time he signed it was just for kids and the Play60 group.

Matt Cassel was cool and signed several items. He signed the day Derrick Henry decided to sign so everybody was crowding Henry and Matt was looking for things to sign so I obliged him cool.gif

Tyler Ferguson (from WKU) and Alex Tanney both signed but one of them will probably be the scout team QB this time next week.

The RB's...........

Derrick Henry has only signed once and he was a jerk (sorry Bama fans). He only signed predominantly Bama stuff and stuff for kids. He passed over, reached over, and even moved my helmet several times to sign other items for other people. WHEN I asked politely for his autograph on my helmet he refused and walked on down the line. mad.gif

DeMarco Murray (My Sooners running back) has been hurt so he hasn't signed which is a bummer considering I have brought my Sooners stuff to be signed. Hopefully he will sign before camp is closed to the public otherwise I will just have to keep trying TTM (which hasn't been successful).

The Draft picks.......

Corey Davis (#1 pick) has signed several times and been really nice. Today he signed several items for me and actually remembered me from earlier in the week and welcomed me back. Guess I'm hard to miss with my bright red Sooners shirt laugh.gif laugh.gif

Adoree Jackson (1st round pick) signed one day but his signature really made me mad - it is basically two inches tall and consists of a dot, curve line, and dot all squished together. I mean, I understand that he went to the University of Southern California but can I get a signature that proves you earned your college degree and didn't just lay on the beach for four years.

Taywan Taylor (3rd round pick) is probably one of the better rookie draft pick signers. He has been out at the fence pretty much every day AND he has a nice signature. We have talked several times about WKU and he has taken several pictures with me and my wife. Really a nice kid and has become a fan favorite.

Jonnu Smith (3rd round pick) has signed a few times and is pretty nice but with the free agent signing of Eric Decker and Jace Amaro plus Delanie Walker he probably won't make the team.

As far as autographs, I've done pretty good this year........I have over 20 on my Titans helmet (I tried to only have established roster players sign it this time - I had camp rookies and invites sign cards).

As far as cards and pics, I have about 40 autographs

The players are signing frequently and are really fan friendly but I do have a few complaints:

#1- This year the team decided to not announce who was signing so it is just basically left up to the players if they want to sign or not....now they have "made" a few star players sign but mostly it has been rookies and lineman coming to the fences.

#2- A kids section is nice and understandable (considering they usually get stampeded when a star player signs) but when a star player ONLY goes to the kid section to sign and avoids the adult fans that is not cool

#3- A straight line, loop loop dot, and swirl are not signatures!!! At least give us a chance to figure out who the heck just signed. If Mickey Mantle could sign a nice autograph then so can you Rookie

#4- Finally; if I hand you a picture, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD don't sign across your face...........I've had two players do that already and it makes me mad cause I spent time making that picture and maybe I'm going to hang your ugly mug in my mancave.

This is my third opportunity to go to a Titans training camp........the other two were in 2009 and 2008. Here are the links to my threads on those years:

2009 Training camp

2008 Training camp

In this thread I will show pics of my second full size helmet signed by players, my selfie pics with players, and pics of my autographs. I will also give some insight, funny training camp stories, and predictions rolleyes.gif

$10 Delivered!!!!! w/ a nice Kenneth Dixon GUed card add by the seller.

I have a nice collection of players in their college uniforms and these were fairly cheap ........ a buck a piece. So I pulled the trigger and added them to my PC

Next Level Thurman Thomas (OSU) - Although I'm a predominately Sooners collector I still like the occasional card from Oklahoma's Second-best University tongue.gif

Andrew Billings (Baylor) - 4th round pick with the Bengals

DeAndre Houston-Carson (William & Mary) - 6th round pick with the Bears

Mekale McKay (Cinncinnati) - UFA now with the Titans but will probably be cut

Keyarris Garrett (Tulsa) - UFA with the Panthers

Jordan Williams-Lambert (Ball State) - UFA with the Saints

Marquise Williams (UNC) - UFA now with the CFL Roughriders
