I've seen some of his cards sell on ebay for quite a little. Just wondering why all the hype around him. I have an '06 Bowman Chrome Draft Refractor of him and the back of the card says he hit the first ever Grand Slam in the World Baseball Classic. Is this why?

Because he is Asian, and Asian collectors love to buy cards of their players and there is usually a lot of competition for their cards, so the prices are high. Also, he is a decent prospect.

Here's how the back of the card reads:
Yung Chi Chen

Resume: Signed out of Taiwan in 2004...Named '05 Midwest League All-Star...Earned mid-year '06 promotion by smacking .342 for Class A Inland Empire...Started in '06 Futures Game.

Skills: Knows how to hit...Uses all fields...Produces both average and power...Racks up extra-base hits...Plays solid defense...Runs well...Shows 20-20 potential.

Up Close: Belted the first-ever World Baseball Classic grand slam...Went 5-for-14 in that event, with 5 RBI...Played for Chinese Taipei in the '04 Athens Olympics

I've seen a few GU-Jsy cards of his from Bowman Draft selling on ebay for $100+.

There is a yellow jersey card selling now for 100.00 listed as an SP.

Is it correct that the yellow jerseys are SP?

I was wondering that, too, because I didn't see a SP number on the pic of the card anywhere, and the description didn't give an SP number. The yellow jsy was selling for more than the black, but the black was still selling for $20.00. There's another black jsy a few listings down that is listed as an sp, but isn't selling for as much as the yellow. I dunno...just seemed like his cards were worth more than similar cards of a few other prospects I was comparing such as Jason Kubel, Howie Kendrick.

On the World Team, Yellow is a SP and on the USA Team, Red is a SP. There are couple of more colors that rarer though.

As you can tell, there is a Market for sportscard in Asia...some of the Japanese players no longer command premiums (anybody remember the Yankees Irabu ot the Mets Matsui) but some still do. Too me, it good for card collecting...at least there are more cards that will be "worth" more for the buyer of packs/boxes.
