I’m looking to get back into collecting basketball cards. The last time I collected was 1997-

2001. I collected Upper Deck & Topps. Now I see those companies aren’t available but the

only one that is Panini. When I collected UP & Topps I was familiar & collected sets such as

MVP, Stadium Club, Finest, Series 1 & 2, etc. Which all seemed like basic sets. I was

interested in conducting some research & maybe pre ordering. I went to the Panini web

site, but I couldn’t find any info on basic sets they would be selling for this coming

basketball season 2018-2019. Some questions I have are how many cards would be in the

set, insert sets, possible autos, GU, etc. In the past I used becket as a resource but in the

area I’m at I don’t have access to one. I also looked on eBay but didn’t see any pre

orders for Panini 2018-2019 season.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Can you please point me in a

direction? I’m not even sure if I was at the right area on the Panini web site.

You can message me back here or email me at returnofaskywalker@yahoo.com

Thank you.

Marty

Welcome back. The Panini website should have checklists available, at least it did when it was Donruss/Panini. I tried a brief search on the site and even using the search engine did not find the checklists. That being said there is a few websites that usually have checklists for products online, such as Cardboard Connection, Beckett, and others. If you know the product just type it in to google or your search engine and you should see options for those sites. I generally type 2017-18 Panini Cornerstones NBA checklist and my search had several sites with the checklist. Here is the Cardboardconnection link for the product I picked: https://www.cardboardconnection.com/2017-18...asketball-cards

I would go to online hobby shops: Blowout Cards, Dave and Adams Cardworld, or others and see what products are preselling right now for basketball, then do a google search for the checklist to see what cards are available in that product. Sometimes the final checklists don't agree due to players not signing or other reasons (unable to use player image) so just be aware of that, especially on presell items.

I think this will help, but please post if you have other questions.

A nice place to find checklists is The Trading Card Database (tradingcarddb.com) it is member driven so sometimes there are mistakes, but most of the members there are very friendly and a few of the regulars are determined to make their checklists THE most accurate of all.

Edit: There is also the Cardboard Connection for accurate checklists from the last few years. Sometimes they don't seem to have lists from some years and it is difficult to search there. So most of the time I just find the checklist I'm looking for by doing a Google search for the specific year/set and look for the Cardboard Connection link. Then again more often I just check TCDB (as mentioned above).

I despise Panini and havent bought a basketball card since their exclusive began.

that being said their site is usually always accurate for checklist and you can usually find a preview or two of the upcoming releases

Their products are rookie card driven for the most part and rookies extend to a lot of non roster invitee to camps so if you are expecting 60 or so rookies better think about 150 or so.

They also have a history of Short printing the better rookies in any and all releases!

They still do not have licenses for autos of Jordan, Lebron or Ben Simmons, Also Kevin Love and shaq are possible non inclusive too
