What do you think will be the fallout?

My thoughts....

* We need effective campaign reform.

* Most of the 20 Congresspeople under taint of Abramoff are Republicans, but there are some democrats. Frankly, all of these folks should have their feet held to the fire.

* DeLay is going down. Already, the House is talking about permanently replacing him in his leadership position.

* The President is also tainted with this scandal, yet another in a series of revelations over the past few months.

* Abramoff will sing. But, has politics seeped into our justice system that will affect the outcome?

* It will be interesting to note whether there will be oversight hearings in Congress, given the Republicans are the majority.

* I think that the Democrats should, and will, use this issue in the '06 elections. The issue of cronyism, secrecy and corruption is dominant in all progressive's minds and is starting to trickle into moderate Republicans, too.

* And, when the Democrats regain the House, and maybe even the Senate, we will find out how deep this scandal really is.
